P T Kurabo Manunggal Textile Industries (PT Kumatex) adalah perusahaan yang bergerak dalam bidang industri pemintalan, perajutan dan pertenunan. PT Kumatex memproduksi banyak jenis benang, diantaranya benang heattech, benang T 60, benang T 75/2, benang T 80/3, dan benang 20/4. Dari beberapa jenis produk benang tersebut, benang yang paling banyak dipesan oleh konsumen adalah benang heattech. Pada proses produksi benang heattech di PT Kumatex terdapat 20 mesin ring spinning yang bekerja selama 24 jam. Selama proses produksi berlangsung, terjadi permasalahan kerusakan (breakdown) dari mesin-mesin ring spinning tersebut dan terpilih mesin RS 96 sebagai objek penelitian karena mesin tersebut yang paling sering mengalami breakdown sehingga mengganggu jalannya proses produksi benang heattech. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisa penyebab penurunan efektivitas mesin ring spinning 96 dengan menggunakan pendekatan Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) dengan Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) sebagai kriteria pengukuran dan memberikan usulan perbaikan yang tepat. Pengukuran efektivitas mesin dilakukan dengan menghitung nilai Overall Equipment Effectiveness. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan mesin ring spinning 96 memiliki nilai rata-rata sebesar 60,42% selama periode April 2015 sampai April 2016, masih dibawah standar Japanese Institute of Plant Maintenance (JIPM) untuk OEE. Berdasarkan hasil identifikasi six big losses, losses yang memiliki persentase terbesar adalah quality defect and required losses (49,35%). Losses tersebut terjadi disebabkan adanya kegagalan mesin sehingga menurunkan waktu produktif dari mesin. Berdasarkan hasil perhitungan OEE dan six big losses, dapat disimpulkan bahwa pada bulan Desember 2015, Februari 2016, dan Maret 2016 memiliki nilai persen OEE yang rendah dan nilai persen quality defect and required losses yang cukup tinggi, dimana hal tersebut menyebabkan produkstivitas mesin rendah. Diagram Fault Tree Analysis menunjukkan bahwa kegagalan mesin ring spinning 96 disebabkan oleh komponen bearing, roller, handle, dan worm wheel. Berdasarkan hasil perhitungan probabilitas terjadinya kegagalan, komponen roller merupakan komponen yang memiliki frekuensi kegagalan paling tinggi. Rekomendasi perbaikan diberikan menggunakan prinsip pendekatan dari delapan pilar TPM, diantaranya dengan diadakannya autonomous maintenance yang diberikan kepada operator, menggunakan sistem perawatan preventive maintenance pada komponen- komponen kritis (komponen bearing, roller, dan worm wheel), serta melakukan training bagi operator maintenance.

P T Kurabo Manunggal Textile Industries (PT Kumatex) is a company engaged in industrial spinning, knitting and weaving. PT Kumatex produce many kinds of yarns, including heattech yarn, T 60 yarn, T 75/2 yarn, T 80/3 yarn and 20/4 yarn. Of the several types of yarn’s product, most ordered by the consumer is heattech yarn. The process of heattech yarn production in PT Kumatex there are 20 ring spinning machine that is working for 24 hours. During the production process, there is a problem of degradation (breakdown) of ring spinning machines and selected the RS 96 machine as the research object because the machine is the longest suffered breakdown so as to interrupt the production process heattech yarn. This study aims to analyzing the causes of declining effectiveness 96 ring spinning machine by using the approach of Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) and Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) as a measurement criteria and provide corrective suggestions. The results showed ring spinning 96 machine has an average value of 60.42% during the period April 2015 to April 2016, still below the standard Japanese Institute of Plant Maintenance (JIPM) for the OEE. Based on the results of the identification of six big losses, losses which has the largest percentage is the quality defect and required losses (49.35%). Losses occurred due to the failure of the engine thereby reducing the productive time of the machine. Based on the calculation of OEE and six big losses, it can be concluded that in December 2015, February 2016 and March 2016 had a low OEE value per cent and the value per cent quality defect and required a fairly high losses, where it causes low productivity of the machine. Diagram Fault Tree Analysis showed that ring spinning 96 machine failures caused by component bearing, roller, handle, and the worm wheel. Based on the results of the calculation of the probability of occurrence of a failure, roller component is a component that has the highest frequency of failures. Recommendations for improvement are given using the principle of the eight pillars of TPM approach, including the holding of autonomous maintenance has given to the operator, using the care system preventive maintenance on these critical components (components bearing, roller and worm wheel), and to conduct maintenance training for operators.
