T he ability to competently perform radiography is a crucial skill in dentistry. Every dentist must possess complete mastery of the techniques and knowledge associated with radiography. This research aims to compare the quality of dental periapical radiograph produced by undergraduate dental students and profession dental students of Trisakti University. The result of this paper can be utilised for educational purposes in dentistry study or references for dental clinics wanting to perform radiography on patients. The data in this research were gathered through descriptive methodology with survey on the radiograph samples made by undergraduate dental students and profession dental students. The data were analyzed using Chi-Square test by comparing the independent variable and dependent variable to produce the results. The analysis resulted in statistical differences between the radiographs made by undergraduate dental students and profession dental students. From the data, 26.42% undergraduate dental students executed perfect radiographs, while 33.96% are diagnostically suitable. The remaining 39.62% of radiographs were not usable. On the other side, the profession dental students achieved significantly better results; 36.67% of the profession dental students’ radiographs were of exemplary quality and more than half, 56.67% to be exact, were suitable for diagnosis. Only 6.67% of the radiographs were unsatisfactory. Based on these evidences, it can be concluded that the profession dental students could produce better radiographs than the undergraduate dental students.
