Uji aktivitas ekstrak etanol 70% daun binahong (anredera cordifolia (tenore.) steenis) terhadap streptococcus sanguinis
D aun binahong (Anredera cordifolia (Tenore) Steenis) secara empms sudah digunakan masyarakat untuk menambah stamina, antibiotik, dan antiinflamasi. Pada uji fitokimia yang dilakukan oleh BALLITRO, daun binahong diketahui memiliki kandungan saponin dan alkaloid tinggi yang berkhasiat sebagai antibakteri. Pada saat erupsi gigi, mikroflora di rongga mulut semakin kompleks, dan ada peningkatan dari genus Streptococcus khususnya Streptococcus sanguinis. Bakteri ini merupakan salah satu bakteri yang pertama kali berkolonisasi di pelikel gigi dan membentuk plak. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk menentukan konsentrasi hambat minimum (MIC) dan konsentrasi bunuh minimum (MBC) dari ekstrak etanol 70% daun binahong terhadapS. sanguinis. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan teknik dilusi dengan lima kali pengulangan. Konsentrasi yang digunakan pada serial dilution ialah 100%, 50%, 25%, 12.5%, 6.3%, 3 %, 1.5%, 0.8%, 0.4%, 0.2%. Grup kontrol pada uji antibakteri menggunakan CHX 0.1% dan aquades steril. Pada konsentrasi 100%, 50%, 25%, 12.5%, 6.3%, dan 3% dilanjutkan dengan uji gores (streaking) dikarenakan pengaruh warna ekstrak. Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa ekstrak etanol daun binahong dapat menghambat pertumbuhan S. sanguinis dengan MIC 25% dan MBC 50%. Dari hasil penelitian diperoleh tidak adanya perbedaan signifikan antara konsentrasi hambat minimum (25%) maupun konsentrasi bunuh minimum (50%) ekstrak etanol 70% daun binahong dengan chlorhexidine gluconate 0.1% (uji-t; 6. > 0.05).
B inahong leaves (Anredera cordifolia (J'enore) Steenis) has been used empirically to enhance stamina, as antibiotics, and antiinflammation. The phytochemical test which was done by BALLITRO resulting that the binahong leaves contain biologically active compound such as saponin and alkaloid which have potential effects as antibacteria. As a tooth erupt, the oral microorganisms become more complex and there are increases in Streptococcus genus particularly Streptococcus sanguinis. It is one of the major bacteria that colonizes in pellicle and forms tooth plaque. The aim of this study was to find out the effectiveness of binahong leaves extract against S.sanguinis based on their Minimum Inhibitory Concentration (MIC) and Minimum Bactericidal Concentration (MBC). The antimicrobial activities was determined by using broth dilution in five times repetition. The extract was diluted into: 100%, 50%, 25%, 12.5%, 6.3%, 3.15%, 1.5%, 0.8%, 0.4%, 0.2% concentrations. Chlorhexidine gluconate 0.1% an.d sterile aquadest were used as control groups. Concentration 100%, 50%, 25%, 12.5%, 6.3%, dan 3% were continued to streaking test. The result of this study showed that binahong leaves 70% ethanol extract inhibits the growth ofS. sanguinis at a concentration of 25% (MIC) and at concentration of 500/4 for MBC. The statistic anaylisis showed no significant antibacterial difference between MIC (25%) or MBC concentration (50%) of binahong leaves 70% ethanol extract and chlorhexidine gluconate 0,1% (t-test; 6, > 0.05).
