Hubungan budaya minuman the terhadap kesehatan gigi masyarakat (Laporan Penelitian)
P enelitian dilatarbelakangi oleh kebiasaan minum teh yang telah menjadi budaya di berbagai negara, salah satunya di Indonesia. Teh (Camelia sinensis) merupakan minuman yang memiliki manfaat antara lain antioksidan, menurunkan tekanan darah, meningkatkan kepadatan tulang, serta bermanfaat untuk mencegah karies gigi. Salah satu kandungan di dalam teh yaitu fluor dipercaya dapat mengurangi demineralisasi email dan memicu proses remineralisasi. Tujuan penelitian ini yaitu untuk mengetahui apakah ada hubungan budaya minum teh terhadap kesehatan gigi masyarakat RT 01 dan RT 02 RW 03 Kecamatan Kutowinangun Kelurahan Tingkir Salatiga. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian observasional dengan rancangan potong silang yang dilakukan dengan metode penyebaran kuesioner serta pemeriksaan index DMF-T. Subjek penelitian ini adalah 53 warga RT 01 dan RT 02 yang berumur diatas 17 tahun, sehat jasmani, rohani, dapat berkomunikasi dengan baik. Hasil penelitian ini dianalisis menggunakan analisis kuantitatif berupa persentase serta uji statistik korelasi Pearson untuk mengetahui hubungan budaya minum teh dengan kesehatan gigi masyarakat.
T his research is based on the habit of consuming tea as a culture in several countries, such as Indonesia. Tea (Camelia sinensis) is a beneficial drink for the body as an antioxidant, it is able to decrease blood pressure, increasing bone density, and prevent dental caries. Fluoride minerals found in tea are believed to reduce email demineralization and trigger the process of remineralization. The purpose of this research is to know whether there is a connection in the culture of drinking tea to the dental health of the people in RT 01 and RT 02 RW 03 Kutowinangun Sub-district Tingkir Salatiga. This research is a cross sectional, observational research conducted by the method of distribution of the questionnaires as well as examination of the DMF-T index. The subjects of this research are 53 residents who are above 17 years old from RT 01 and RW 02 that are healthy physically, mentally, and are able to communicate well. The result of this reseach was analyzed by using a quantitative analysis of percentage and Pearson correlation statistical test to determine the correlation of tea culture with the community’s dental health. From the data obtained it is known that the percentage of people who consume tea as much as 85%. The DMF-T results showed that people who did not consume tea have higher caries index compare to they who consumed. The dental caries index is increasing on people who consume tea with sugar. Pearson correlation test showed that there was a very strong connection between tea consumption to dental caries index.
