Hubungan amplitudo akomodasi dan astenopia pada karyawan

E mployees have good work abilities if their eyesight is good and to have a good eyesight requires maximal accommodation abilities. Eyestrain can appear immediately after prolonged computer use or more than 4 hours. The results of a survey in the United States showed that 69% of the total 8 hours of time employees ise computers, and according to the Indonesian Statistics Center showed that computer users reached more that 75%. To see clearly, a good accommodation process is needed, a normal amplitude of accommodation is required. If there is an amplitude of accommodation that is not good enough, it will be difficult to maintain focus on an object so that the eyes will get tired quickly, known as asthenopia. The incidence rate of asthenopia based on WHO increased from 40% to 90%. This research was conducted to determine the relationship between amplitude accommodation and asthenopia in employees.METHODSThis study is a descriptive analytical study with a cross-sectional design using a questionnaire for asthenopia and the Royal Air Force (RAF) Rule to assess the amplitude accommodation. The study was conducted on 64 employees working at BPJS Employement gambir,kebon sirih and setiabudi Office using a consecutive non-random sampling technique. Data analysis used the Fisher test and was processed using the SPSS program with a significance level of 0,05.RESULTSThe results of the analysis between the amplitude accommodation and asthenopia in employees obtained a result of p = 0,220 with Fisher’s exact which showed that there was no significant relationship (p > 0.05).CONCLUSIONSThe study shows that there is no significant relationship between amplitude accommodation and asthenopia in employees.
