Desa ini terletak sekitar 55 kilometer timur laut Denpasar serta sekitar 35 kilometer utara Bangli. Bayung Gede terdiri dari satu desa dinas, satu desa pakraman, satu banjar dinas dan satu banjar pakraman. Desa ini dibatasi oleh Desa Batur di sebelah utara, Desa Sekardadi di sebelah timur, Bonyoh dan Sekaan di sebelah selatan serta Desa Belacan di sebelah barat.
