Efek antijamur madu terhadap pertumbuhan candida albicans secara in vitro (Laporan Penelitian)
K Kandidiasis oral merupakan infeksi oportunistik yang terjadi dalam rongga mulut yang disebabkan jamur candida, terutama spesies candida albicans, Spesies jamur ini sering ditemukan dalam rongga mulut individu sehat dan merupakan mikroflora normal tubuh.Namun dengan adanya faktor predisposisi, mikroorganisme ini bisa berubah menjadi patogen. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menguji aktivitas antijamur madu yang berasal dari Indonesia terhadap candida albicans.Uji antijamur madu dilakukan melalui metode difusi sumuran dengan media sobouraud dextrase agar. Variasi konsentrasi madu (100,75,50,25% w/v) diteliti secara in vitro. Nistatin digunakan sebagai kontrol positif dan etanol sebagai kontrol negatif. Hasil memperlihatkan sampel madu tidak memiliki zona hambat pada semua konsentrari. penelitian ini menunjukan bahwa madu tidak memiliki daya hambat terhadap c.albicans
O Oral candidiasis is an opportunistic infection that occurs in the oral cavity caused by the Candida fungi, mostly Candida albicans species. This species are frequently encountered in the oral cavity of healthy individuals and as such can be considered to be normal microflora residents of body. While the predisposing factors come, a shift to a pathogenic state can occur. Previous research showed that one of the bee products, honey, had beneficial effects in medical, including as antifungal. The aim of this study was to test the antifungal activity of honey sample collected from Indonesia against Candida albicans. The antifungal effect of honey sample was tested using well diffusion Sabouraud dextrose agar method. Different concentrations (100, 75, 50, 25% w/v) of honey were studied in vitro. Nystatin was used as positive control, besides ethanol as negative control. Result obtained that the honey sample showed no inhibitory zone at all concentrations. This study demonstrated honey had no antifungal activity against C.albicans.
