Ankilosis gigi pada perawatan ortodontik
A nkilosis gigi yang ditandai dengan hilangnya ketinggian oklusal yang normal dan mobilitas gigi merupakan suatu keadaan yang dapat mempersulit perawatan ortodontik. Diagnosisnya ditegakkan melalui tanda klinis dan dipastikan dengan pemeriksaan radiografis. Walaupun penyebab sesungguhnya belum diketahui, ankilosis gigi sulung sering dihubungkan dengan faktor keturunan, dan untuk gigi tetap faktor trauma sering disebut sebagai penyebabnya. Gigi ankilosis baik sulung maupun permanen biasanya dipertahankan selama mungkin pada lengkung gigi sehingga pencabutan merupakan pilihan terakhir perawatan dan biasanya perlu dilakukan dengan tindakan bedah. Tujuan pembahasan ini untuk mengemukakan definisi, etiologi, insidensi, diagnosis, dan penatalaksanaan ankilosis gigi.
D ental ankylosis, which is recognized by the lost of occlusal height and tooth mobility, is a situation that can make orthodontic treatment become more problematic. The diagnose is based on clinical signs and confirmed by radiographic examination. Even though the definite etiology is unknown, the ankylosed primary tooth is often related with the inherited factor, and for the permanent tooth, traumatic injury is often mentioned to be the caused. The ankylosed tooth, primary or permanent, usually retained as long as possible in the arch until extraction become the only treatment choice and surgical attempt is often needed to remove it. The purpose of this study is to present definition, etiology, incidence, diagnosis, and treatment of dental ankylosis.
