P Pada umumnya masih terdapat mineral-mineral ikutan berharga dalam bijih timah, salah satunya mineral ilmenit. Proses pengolahan pada mineral-mineral ikutan dilakukan di Amang Plant, Bidang Pengolahan Mineral Unit Metalurgi PT Timah, Tbk. Ilmenit (FeTiO3) merupakan mineral yang memiliki sifat kemagnetan yang lemah (paramagnetik), sehingga dibutuhkan alat pemisahan berdasarkan sifat kemagnetan yang dapat menghasilkan medan magnet yang besar. Alat pemisahan yang digunakan adalah Induced Roll Magnetic Separator (IRMS), pada alat ini terdapat pengaturan jangka pendek diantaranya kuat arus listrik dan jarak splitter sangat berpengaruh dalam recovery mineral menit high grade yang optimal. Penelitian dilakukan dengan metode eksperimen menggunakan analisiskuantitatif. Feed yang digunakan adalah middling air table, dari hasil penelitiandidapat karakteristik mineral kasiterit (37,92 %), ilmenit (21,36 %), monasit(18,56 %), pirit (4,60 %), zirkon (5,85 %), tourmalin (0,02 %), kuarsa (0,71 %) dan anatas (0,27 %). Pada penelitian ini mendapatkan kadar mineral ilmenit highgrade pada 5 A sampai 8 A pada single splitter 1. Dimana, recovery terkecil pada5 A dan single splitter 1 sebesar 29,38 %, sedangkan recovery terbesar pada 15 Adan single splitter 9 sebesar 74,83 %.Analisis hasil penelitian bahwa feed yang diolah pada alat IRMS berukuran -20 #. Pengaruh kuat arus listrik dan splitter terhadap recovery ilmenite adalah berbanding lurus yaitu semakin besar kuat arus listrik dan posisi splitter,maka recovery mineral ilmenit semakin besar. Penentuan kuat arus listrik dansingle splitter yang optimal yaitu 8 A dan single splitter 1 dengan kadar ilmenit85,84 % dan recovery ilmenit 37,93 %.

The separation tool used is Induced Roll Magnetic Separator (IRMS), in this tool there are short-term settings such as electric current strength and splitter distance is very influential in optimal high grade mineral minute recovery. The study was conducted by experimental methods using quantitative analysis. The feed used was middling air table, from the results of the research found the characteristics of cassiterite minerals (37.92%), ilmenite (21.36%), monazite (18.56%), pyrite (4.60%), zircon (5.85 %), tourmaline (0.02%), quartz (0.71%) and anatas (0.27%). In this study obtained the level of ilmenite highgrade minerals at 5 A to 8 A in single splitter 1. Where, the smallest recovery at 5 A and single splitter 1 was 29.38%, while the largest recovery at 15 single splitter 9 was 74.83%. Analysis of the results of the study that the feed processed in the IRMS tool is -20 #. The effect of electric current and splitter on the recovery of ilmenite is directly proportional, namely the greater the electric current and the splitter position, the greater the recovery of ilmenite minerals.
