B Batik, as already known is the form of a culture in herited by the ancestors of th Indonesians. Various opinion regarding the origins of batik art has often mentioned both by experts from outside Indonesia as well as from Indonesi aitself. As is known, they are mostly says that this art does not come from Indonesia, but came from outside Indonesia, particularly the influence of Hindu culture that comes from southern India. However there is also an opinion that this art originated from Indonesia. This opinion is not only make us pride, but also came with some evidence and facts that found in the various regions in Indonesia.Like other cultures, batik has under gone many developments and changes. Batik Parang in particular has experienced many developments and changes in different periods with a very long time span. From this period, we can see that batik parang have also experienced some ups and downs conditions, which not only caused by outside influences, but also can be caused by various influences from within his own culture.In a due process of change will produce a wide range of output that inevitably will influence directly a form of culture. These conditions also experienced by batik,especially batik parang in the process of developing and adapting to changes. Asin batik parang, which evolved from an art form that originated from within the palace, so must be degraded into common people batik that can be used by anyone for a sake of its existence . Batik in order to survive as a cultural form originated from Indonesia, should be able to adapt continuous changes tha toccur and on the other hand there must be sacrificed by decreasing the symbolic meanings of batik to continued its existence in the future.
