Uji kinerja sequencing batch reactors (SBR) terhadap penurunan kandungan bahan organik (COD) air limbah tekstil PT. Kanebok
Air Limbah Tekstil PT.
S BR systems represent a variation of the activated sludge process. The advantages of SBR is its ability to act as an equalization basin, aeration basin, and clarifier within a single reactor, without having sludge recirculation. The SBR is operated in a true batch reactor which depends on a cyclic repetition of reactor phases. The SBR process can be employed to treat any wastewater with some modification to suit the treatment requirements. The textile waste from PT. Kanebo Indonesia Textile Mills (KITM) contained COD with average of 3162 mg/l which is high enough to become a threat to the aquatic life if it were discharged directly into a watercourse. With all the advantage of the process, the SBR should be suitable for the organic compounds removal of textile wastewater from PT. KITM.By conducting the variation of F/M and MI.SS, the experiment showed that the removal of organic compounds has occurred within the SBR with average percentation of removal 65.28 - 77.86%. The optimum process on this research occurred at ratio F/M 0.4 with 1000 mg/I ofMLSS. The kinetic value from that ratio was k = 5.417 and Ks= 1541.30.
