R Rendahnya tingkat aktivitas fisik telah dikaitkan dengan peningkatan resiko terjadinya demensia yang lebih awal. Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengetahui apakah ada hubungan antara aktivitas fisik terhadap fungsi kognitif mahasiswa,sehingga apabila benar terbukti berpengaruh dapat dilakukan usaha pencegahan terjadinya demensia yang lebih awal di kemudian hari. Penelitian menggunakan metode cross-sectional dengan subjek 163 mahasiswa Fakultas Kedokteran Universitas Trisakti Angkatan 2010 dipilih dengan consecutive non-random sampling. Tingkat aktivitas fisik diukur dengan International Physical Activity Questionner (IPAQ), kemampuan bahasa dengan verbal fluency test, fungsi eksekutif dengan trial making test(TMT), dan atensiserta memori dengan tes digit span. Analisis data dengan menggunakan SPSSuntuk Mac OS versi 22 dan tingkat kemaknaan yang digunakan besarnya 0,05. Analisis Kruskal-Wallis menunjukkan perbedaan bermakna antar setiap tingkat kelompok aktivitas fisik pada skor verbal fluency test,TMT, dan digitspan test(p<0,001). Dimana semakin tinggi tingkat aktivitas fisik maka semakin tinggi fungsi kognitif mahasiswa. Namun pada fungsi eksekutif antara kelompok aktivitas fisik sedang dan tinggi tidak ada perbedaan bermakna (p=0,260). Terdapat hubungan yang bermakna antara tingkat aktivitas fisik dengan fungsi kognitif mahasiswa. Sehingga mahasiswa perlu menerapkan pola hidup baik dengan beraktivitas fisik tinggi untuk mencegah gangguan kognitif dikemudian hari.

L Lower levels of performance-based physical function were associated with an increased risk of dementia and therefore suggested that poor physical function might in fact precede the onset of dementia. The purpose of this paper is to analyse and evaluate the effect of physical activity towards the cognitive function of university students; so that if there is any certain effect occurred in the middle of the research, the act of prevention can be conducted. The research is done by using cross-sectional method with total sample of 163 medicine students from Trisakti University. Furthermore, those samples arechosen by using consecutive non-random sampling method. Another points, levels of Physical function is measured with International Physical Activity Questioner (IPAQ), language ability with verbal fluency test, Executive function with Trial Making Test (TMT), and finally attention and memory with Digit Span test. The analysis of data is using SPSS version 22.0 for Mac OS 22.0 version and level of significance was set at 0.05. Kruskal-Wallis analysis shows the significant difference in each levels of physical activity group with the ability such as verbal fluency, executive function, attention,or even memory (p<0.001). Therefore, it is suggested that the higher the level of physical function, the higher students cognitive function might become. However,in regards to the executive function, there is no significant difference between medium and high levels of physical activity group. There is a relationship between the level of physical activity with the ability suchas verbal fluency, executive function, attention, and memory of the university student. As the result, students is suggested to conduct a high level of physical activity in their daily routine to prevent cognitive problems in the future.
