S Semen ionomer kaca modifikasi resin (SIKMR) merupakan bahan restorasi yang mulai dikembangkan pada tahun 1967. Peningkatan kekasaran pennukaan bahan restorasi menyebabkan akumulasi plak, dan kekuatan tarik diametrikal mengalami penurunan sehingga terjadi porus dan mudah pecah. Tujuan penelitian untuk mengetahui pengaruh perendaman infused water dan penyikatan gigi terhadap perubahan kekasaran permukaan dan kuat tarik diametrikal SIKMR. Penelitian ini menggunakan 40 sampel dengan diameter 6mm dan ketebalan 4mm. Sampel dibagi 4 kelompok: kelompok A SIKMR light curing dan kelompok B SIKMR self curing dilakukan perendaman dalam lOOmL air mineral selama 15 hari, kelompok C SIKMR light curing dan kelompok D SIKMR self curing dilakukan perendaman dalam lOOmL infused water selama 5 menit dan diganti air mineral selama 5 menit, perlakuan diulang 20 kali selama 15 hari. Sampel dilakukan penyikatan gigi selama 2 menit sebelum dan setelah perendaman. Sampel diuji kekasaran sebelum dan setelah perlakuan, menggunakan surface roughness tester serta diuji kuat tarik diametrikal menggunakan universal testing machine. Penelitian ini memberikan hasil: kekasaran pennukaan kelompok A sebelum(l,28±0,49pm) dan setelah(3,24±l,18pm), B sebelum(0,52±0,23pm) dan setelah(2,76±0,55pm), C sebelum(l,87±0,45pm) dan setelah(4,26±2,36pm), serta D sebelum(0,88±0,53pm) dan setelah(4,01±l,09pm). Nilai uji tarik diametrikal untuk kelompok A(15,23±3,53MPa), B(8,18±4,29MPa), C(12,84±2,07MPa), dan D(7,89±l,66MPa). Analistik statistik dengan uji-t menunjukkan adanya perubahan nilai kekasaran pennukaan bermakna antara sebelum dan sesudah perlakuan, namun tidak ada peningkatan kekasaran bermakna setelah direndam infused water, serta antara self curing dan light curing. Sementara itu, uji kekuatan tarik diametrikal menunjukkan perbedaan bermakna antara light curing dan self curing, namun tidak ada perubahan kekuatan bermakna setelah perendaman infused water

R Resin modified glass ionomer cements (RMGIC) is a restorative material developed in 1967. The increase surface roughness of restorative materials cause plaque accumulation and decrease of diametrical tensile strength cause since material become porous and frangible. The aim of this research is to determine the effect of infused water immersion with brushing against the surface roughness changes and diametrical tensile strength (DTS) of RMGIC. Forty samples (6mm diameter, 4mm thickness) were divided in 4 groups: group A light-cured RMGIC and group B self-cured RMGIC were soaked in lOOmL of mineral water for 15 days, group C light-cured RMGIC and group D self-cured RMGIC were soaked in lOOmL infused water for 5 minutes and replaced by mineral water for 5 minutes, treatment was repeated 20 times in 15 days. The samples were brushed for 2 minutes before and after immersion. Samples roughness were tested before and after treatment using a surface roughness tester and DTS using universal testing machine. The surface roughness of group A was 1,28±0,49pm (before) 3.24±l.l8pm(after), group B 0.5 2±0.2 3pm(before) 2.76±0.55pm (after), group C 1,87±0.45pm(before) 4.2 6±2.3 6pm (after), and group D 0.88±0.53pm(before) 4.0J±1.09pm(after). Values of DTS: group A (15.23±3.53MPa), B (8.18±4.29MPa), C (12.84±2.07MPa), and D (7.89±1.66MPa). Statistical analytics using t-test showed a significant differece in surface roughness value between before and after treatment, but no significant increase of roughness after soaked in infused water, on between self-curing and light-curing. The DTS test shows significant differences between the light-curing and self-curing, but no significant change in strength after soaked in infused water.
