Pengaruh kondisi penyimpanan terhadap setting time bahan cetak alginat (laporan penelitian)
B Bahan cetak alginat tipe normal setting akan mencapai setting time sekitar 2 sampai 4½ menit. Kondisi penyimpanan bahan kedokteran gigi yang tidak tepat seperti suhu, kelembapan, waktu, dan wadah penyimpanan dapat mempengaruhi kualitas bahan cetak alginat. Tujuan: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh kondisi penyimpanan terhadap setting time bahan cetak alginat. Metode: Jenis penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode eksperimental laboratoris. Sembilan kelompok pengujian bahan cetak alginat tipe normal setting dikemas ulang ke dalam plastik seal wadah tertutup rapat dan plastik tanpa seal wadah terbuka yang disimpan dalam lemari pendingin (suhu 7o C) dan ruang (suhu 28o C) selama 3 dan 5 minggu. Pengukuran setting time sesuai dengan spesifikasi ADA/ANSI no.18. Cetakan sampel terbuat dari logam berbentuk cincin (θ= 30mm, t= 16mm) dengan alat uji setting time berupa batang akrilik (θ= 6,35mm, t= 10cm). Hasil: Setting time kondisi penyimpanan plastik tanpa seal wadah terbuka dengan suhu ruang (28o C) selama 5 minggu menjadi lebih cepat dibandingkan kondisi penyimpanan lainnya. Hasil analisis data uji statistik ANOVA satu jalan (p<0,05) dan post hoc LSD (p<0,05) menunjukkan perbedaan bermakna pada setting time untuk setiap kondisi penyimpanan. Kesimpulan: Kondisi penyimpanan dalam lemari pendingin (suhu 7o C) dan ruang (suhu 28o C) selama 3 dan 5 minggu menghasilkan perbedaan rerata setting time alginat, setting time menjadi lebih cepat pada pengujian kelompok kondisi penyimpanan plastik tanpa seal wadah terbuka dengan suhu ruang (28o C) selama 5 minggu dibandingkan kemasan bahan cetak alginat yang baru dibuka.
T The normal setting of alginate impression materials will reach setting time about 2 to 4½ minutes. Improper storage conditions of dental materials such as temperature, humidity, storage duration, and storage containers influence the quality of alginate impression materials. Objective: The aims of this study is to identify the influence of storage condition on the setting time of alginate impression materials. Method: This study was an experimental laboratory. Nine testing groups of alginate impression materials were repacked into plastic with sealed closed containers and plastic without sealed open containers stored in refrigerator (temperature 7o C) and room (temperature 28o C) for 3 and 5 weeks. The alginates setting time were measured according to ADA / ANSI specifications number 18. The sample mold was metal ring (θ = 30mm, t = 16mm) with the apparatus for setting time was an acrylic rod (θ = 6.35mm, t = 10cm). Results: Setting time storage condition that stored into plastic without sealed open containers at room (temperature 28o C) for 5 weeks was faster than other storage condition. The results of one-way ANOVA statistical analysis (p<0.05) and post hoc LSD (p<0.05) data showed significant differences in setting time for each storage condition. Conclusion: Storage condition in refrigerator (temperature 7o C) and room (temperature 28o C) for 3 and 5 weeks produced significant differences in alginate setting time; settting time become faster in group that stored into plastic without sealed open containers at room (temperature 28o C) for 5 weeks than newly opened packaged.
