Efektivitas teknik air Abrasion dan teknik poles konvensional terhadap perubahan warna pada resin komposit nanofiller : kajian setelah proses perendaman kopi robusta (Laporan Penelitian)
R Resin komposit nanofiller sering dijadikan pilihan sebagai bahan restorasi sewarna gigi karena sifat nya yang lebih unggul dibandingkan dengan tiperesin komposit lainnya, namun bahan ini rentan terhadap perubahan warna. Kopi adalah salah satu bahan yang berpengaruh besar terhadap perubahan warna. Selain memberikan permukaan yang halus, pemolesan dengan beberapa instrumen dan teknik dapat menghilangkan stain pada resin komposit. Teknik air abrasion sudah diperkenalkan sejak tahun 1945 dan menjadi pilihan sampai saat ini bukan hanya karena dapat mengambil jaringan karies tanpa berlebihan saja, namun juga dapatmengilangkan stain pada gigi. Tujuan: Untuk mengetahui perbedaan efektivitasteknik air abrasion dan teknik poles konvensional terhadap perubahan warna resinkomposit nanofiller setelah perendaman kopi robusta. Metode: Penelitian inidilakukan pada 20 sampel resin komposit nanofiller yang sudah direndam di dalamkopi robusta selama 7 hari. Sampel dibagi menjadi 2 kelompok yaitu pemolesandengan teknik air abrasion dan pemolesan dengan teknik konvensionalmenggunakan abrasive discs lalu dilakukan pengukuran warna sebelum, sesudahperendaman kopi, dan sesudah pemolesan menggunakan Vita easyshade V sertadilakukan penghitungan perbedaan warnanya. Hasil: Hasil penelitian menunjukanbahwa terjadi perbedaan nilai L, C, dan E yang bermakna antara warna awal danwarna setelah pemolesan dengan teknik air abrasion. Dan tidak ada perbedaan nilaibermakna antara warna awal dan warna setelah pemolesan secara konvensional.Kesimpulan: Ada perbedaan efektivitas teknik air abrasion dan teknik poleskonvensional terhadap perubahan warna resin komposit nanofiller setelahperendaman dengan kopi robusta
N Nanofiller composite resins are commonly used as a restorativematerials but nanofiller composite resins has high susceptibility to stain. Coffee hasa huge impact on color changes. Besides of being able to give a smooth surface ofa composite resins, polishing techniques were able to remove superficial stain oncomposite resins. Air abrasion technique has been introduced since 1945 and is stillbeing used not because its only ability to remove caries, but also its ability toremove superficial stain on the teeth. Aim: to discover the effectiveness of airabrasion technique and conventional polishing technique towards color changes innanofiller composite resins that were immersed in robusta coffee. Materials andMethod: Twenty samples were immersed in robusta coffee for 7 days. Samplesthat have been stained were devided into two groups, group one were polished withair abrasion technique and group two were polished with conventional techniqueusing abrasive discs. The color changes measurement were taken usingspectrophotometer VITA Easyshade V prior to and after staining, and then repeatedafter polishing treatment. Result: There were significant differences in L, C and Ebetween before the samples were immersed in robusta coffee and after they werepolished with air abrasion technique. But there were no significant differencesbetween before the samples were immersed in robusta coffee and after they werepolished with conventional technique. Conclusion: There were differences in theeffectiveness of air abrasion technique and conventional polishing techniquetowards color changes in nanofiller composite resins that were immersed in robustacoffee.
