Evaluasi pelaksanaan operasional underbalanced drilling pada sumur X dan lapangan Y
B Berdasarkan data-data geologi dan reservoar, Formasi Volkanik Jatibarang terdiri dari rekahan-rekahan alami dan mempunyai gradien tekanan yang sudah turun (depleted) dari 0,438 psi/ft menjadi 0,287 psi/ft. Sedangkan berdasarkan data-data pemboran, pemboran konvensional (overbalanced) yang dilakukan pada Formasi Volkanik Jatibarang selalu mengalami masalah hilang sirkulasi dan pipa terjepit. Dengan demikian Formasi Volkanik Jatibarang merupakan kandidat yang cocok untuk penerapan pemboran underbalanced.Sumur “X†ini dilakukan pemboran dimulai dari trayek 36†sampai 12½â€dengan kedalaman 80 mMD sampai 2058.91 mMD, selanjutnya pemboran pada trayek 8½â€dimulai dari kedalaman 2340 mMD untuk memulai dilakukannya pemboran dengan metode underbalanced drilling (UBD), yang merupakan formasi volkanik Jatibarang, dimana formasi tersebut mempunyai tekanan yang telah menurun (depleted), dan jika tetap melakukan pemboran dengan menggunakan metode overbalanced (konvensional) akan menyebabkan banyak problem yaitu total loss circulation, formation damage dan pipe sticking.Pada pelaksanaan operasi pemboran sumur “X†terdapat perubahan desain layout pada unit Membrane N2 package, dimana pada awalnya hanya menggunakan 4 unit feed compressor, 2 unit NPU (Nitrogen Processing Unit), dan 2 Booster. Namun pada pelaksanaannya dilakukan penambahan agar dapat menjaga pressure tetap pada kondisi underbalanced pada saat pemboran berlangsung, metode pemboran underbalanced memberikan pengaruh positiftehadap Rate of penetration (ROP), dimana Rate of penetration (ROP) akan lebih meningkat dibandingkan dengan melakukan pemboran dengan metode konvensional (overbalanced) sehingga dapat mempercepat proses pemboran.
