S Stunting is growth failure because of chronic undernutrition. As a result, toddlers’ height is too low for their age. According to SSGI 2021, there are five provinces with the highest incidence of stunting in Indonesia, NTT 37,8%, West Sulawesi 33,8%, Aceh 33,2%, NTB 31,4%, and Southeast Sulawesi 30,2%. As a result, the researcher intends to analyze associated risk factors with the incidence of stunting in toddlers in rural and urban areas.METHODThis research was an analytic observational study with a cross-sectional approach. The sample was 11.715 toddlers in 5 provinces with the highest stunting incidence in Indonesia, comprising NTT, West Sulawesi, Aceh, NTB, and Southeast Sulawesi. Study This using secondary data obtained from SSGI 2021 data. Data analysis was performed with univariate use percentages and bivariate by chi-square test using SPSS version 25.RESULTSThere was an association between food insecurity (p=0.000; PR=1.3), breastfeeding (p=0.000; PR=3.3), complementary breastfeeding (p=0.000; PR=0.7), mother toddler class (p=0.001; PR=0.9), family planning (p=0.016; PR=0.9), sanitation (p=0.000; PR=1.4), mother education (p=0.000; PR=1.3), residence (p=0.000; PR=1.2) with incidence of stunting in toddlers. But there was no association between drinking water sources (p=0.822; PR=1) and dietary diversity (p=0.076; PR=1) with the incidence of stunting in toddlers.CONCLUSIONIn this study, there was a significant relationship between food insecurity, breastfeeding, complementary breastfeeding, mother-toddler class, family planning, sanitation, mother education, and residence in rural and urban areas with the incidence of stunting in toddlers. But no significant relationship was found between drinking water sources and dietary diversity with the incidence of stunting in toddlers.
