M Magnet banyak digunakan dalam berbagai bidang medis termasuk dalam bidang kedokteran gigi terutama dalam perawatan ortodonti. Tujuan penulisan skripsi ini yaitu untuk membahas tentang efektivitas penggunaan gaya magnet yang diaplikasi.kan pada piranti ortodonti cekat dan fungsional. Magnet dalam bidang ortodonti dapat digunakan untuk distalisasi molar, perawatan gigitan terbuka anterior, pada gigi impaksi, ekspansi rahang, terapi Obstructive Sleep Apnea, untuk ekstrusi mahkota dan akar gigi yang fraktur, untuk retensi, serta diaplikasikan pada piranti ortodonti fungsional magnetik. M Magnets are commonly used in medical fields, including dentistry, especially in orthodontic treatments. The aim of this study is to examine the efficacy of magnetic force used in fixed and functional orthodontic appliances. Magnets in onhodontics can be used for the distalization of molars, treatments of anterior r-r n bite, impacted teeth, maxillary expansion, obstructive sleep apnea therapies, e,irusions of fractured crown and root, as retentions, and also to be applied in a functional magnetic system. Magnets are used in orthodontics because of its distinct characteristic of being able to produce continuous force and magnets can al..,o increase the efficacy of the functional appliances. Even with this significant advantage, magnets have a few disadvantages, such as the fact that they are quite c:o-:;tly, and can be a health hau.ard if not used properly. So, magnetic field is advantagous in a lot of cases, but only few support the idea due to its danger. This causes a lot of dentists to still choose to use conventional appliances for onhodontic treatments.
