A Along with the increasing number of elderly people in Indonesia, the more risk is the risk of degenerative diseases, one of them is Diabetes mellitus (DM). Types of DM are more commonly found, namely 85-90% of the total DM patients. Risk factors for type 2 DM in the elderly include low physical activity, high carbohydrate risk, lifestyle and obesity. Physical activity is one that allows it to be controlled. This study aims to determine the relationship of physical activity with fasting blood sugar levels in the elderly. The study was conducted on 86 elderly people, aged 60-74 years. Performed in August - October 2017 at the Tresna Werdha BudiMulia 2 Social Home, Cengkareng, West Jakarta City. The method used in this study was observational analytic with cross sectional approach. The variables assessed were the level of physical activity assessed using IPAQ, and fasting blood sugar levels assessed using ACCU-check. The data obtained were analyzed by the Spearman correlation test. The results were obtained from 86 respondents with an average age of 66.71, mean male sex, mean blood sugar level 81.85, average level of physical activity 332.53. The results of the spearman correlation test revealed that there was no correlation between physical activity and fasting blood sugar levels in the elderly (r = -0.134) (p = 0.220) where the value of p> alpha was 0.05. Based on the results of the study, the average fasting blood sugar levels in the elderly at the institution were normal, the average level of physical activity was active at a minimum, and there was no relationship between the level of physical activity with satisfied blood sugar levels in the elderly at the PSTW nursing home Budi Mulya 2
