D Daerah penelitian merupakan Kawasan IUP yang terletak di KabupatenKolaka, Provinsi Sulawesi Tenggara dan merupakan bagian dari kompleks Ofiolitdengan kondisi geologi bervariasi sehingga terendapkannya nikel laterit yangprospek. Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengetahui pengaruh geomorfologi danstruktur geologi terhadap laterisasi endapan nikel laterit. Metode penelitian yangdilakukan adalah survei lapangan, analisis geomorfologi dan struktur geologi sertaanalisis ketebalan dan kadar Ni. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan endapan nikel lateritmengalami penebalan dan peningkatan kadar pada satuan geomorfologi perbukitanbergelombang landai 4 s/d 80. Geomorfologi berperan sebagai faktor utama dalamberlangsungnya proses laterisasi sehingga dapat membentuk endapan tebal danpeningkatan kadar Ni dan pengayaan kadar Ni pada daerah penelitian. Strukturgeologi di daerah penelitian berupa rekahan dan sesar naik. Pada umumnya rekahandan sesar naik terisi oleh mineral lain berupa silika. Kehadiran struktur geologimempengaruhi proses laterisasi. Penebalan dan distribusi kadar Ni pada limonitberada disekitar zona sesar. Sementara pada zona saprolit pengaruh struktur geologiterhadap ketebalan dan kadar Ni berlangsung kurang signifikan.

T The study area is an IUP area located in Kolaka Regency, Southeast SulawesiProvince, and is part of the Ophiolite complex with varied geological conditionsthat hold prospective nickel laterite deposits. This study was conducted todetermine the influence of geomorphology and geological structure on thelaterization of nickel laterite deposits. The research methods used were field survey,analysis of geomorphology and geological structure as well as analysis of thicknessand Ni content. The results showed that nickel laterite deposits thicken and increasein grade in the undulating hills geomorphology unit with a slope of 4 to 80.Geomorphology plays a role as the main factor in the lateralization process so thatit can form thick deposits and increase Ni content and enrichment of Ni content inthe study area. Geological structures found in the study area are fractures andascending faults. In general, fractures and ascending faults are filled by otherminerals in the form of silica. The presence of geological structures affects thelaterization process. The thickening and distribution of Ni content in limonite isaround the fault zone. Whereas in the saprolite zone, the influence of geologicalstructures on the thickness and Ni content is less significant.
