L Lumpur pemboran merupakan salah satu faktor yang memiliki peranan paling penting selama berlangsungnya operasi pengeboran, maka dari itu perlu untuk mengontrol sifat-sifat fisik dari lumpur pemboran agar sesuai dengan spesifikasi yang diharapkan. Lumpur pengeboran mempunyai fungsi penting dalamoperasi pengeboran yaitu mengangkat serbur (cutting) ke permukaan, mencegahruntuhnya dinding lubang bor agar suatu kegiatan pemboran dapat berjalan denganlancar. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui kemampuan pengangkatancutting pada kegiatan pemboran. Pada tugas akhir ini dilakukan analisapengangkatan cutting pada sumur T trayek 17 ½”, 12 ¼”, 8 ½” dan 6”.Metode-metode yang digunakan pada penelitian pengangkatan cutting ialahCutting Carrying Index (CCI) dengan nilai >1, Cutting Transport Ratio (CTR)>50% dan Cutting Capacity Annulus (CCA) <5%. Dengan parameter yang menjadiacuan dalam proses pengangkatan cutting yaitu Plastic Viscosity (PV), Yield Point(YP), Gel strength, Index kelakuan aliran (n), Konstanta Power Law (K), Laju alir(Q), densitas lumpur, densitas cutting, diameter cutting, diameter lubang bor, dandiameter luar pipa bor.Pada Penelitian ini, analisa pengangkatan cutting pada sumur T denganmetode Cutting Carrying Index (CCI) pada semua trayek didapatkan nilai berkisarantara 1,554 - 3,950, metode Cutting Transport Ratio (CTR) didapatkan nilaiberkisar antara 86,866% - 97,511% dan pada metode Cutting Capacity Annulus(CCA) 0,242% - 2,974%.Dilakukannya pergantian bahan dasar lumpur dari water base mud menjadioil base mud pada trayek 12 ¼” sumur T yang merupakan keputusan yang baikditeliti dari jenis formasi yang ditembus.
