Pengaruh waktu pemaparan beberapa larutan irigasi endodontik terhadap kekerasan dentin saluran akar (Studi pustaka)
I Irigasi memiliki peran penting selama perawatan endodontik.
I Irrigation has an important role during endodontic treatment. Some irrigation solutions that commonly used for root canal treatment are natrium hypochlorite (NaOCl), ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid (EDTA), chlorhexidine gluconate (CHX), and Mixture of Tetracycline, Acid and Detergent (MTAD). Irrigation solutions are able to remove debris, reduce instrument friction during root canal preparation (lubricant), dissolve inorganic tissue (dentine) and organic tissue (dentine collagen, pulp tissue, biofilm), remove the smear layer that produced during instrumentation, kill bacteria and candida, without causing toxic effects on surrounding tissue. The ability of some irrigation solutions in dissolving organic and inorganic components may cause reduction on microhardness of root canal dentine and increasing the risk of root fracture. The reduction of root canal dentine microhardness can be prevented by taking into account the exposure time of irrigation solutions to the root canal walls so as not to be too long and with proper irrigation solutions concentration.
