C Central area is part of a great district of University Indonesia. It width is18 hectares. The main function of this area is to serve and torepresentative the whole campus communities. It includes the academic and non academic activities. Indonesian architecture had become the certain characteristics to the campus, especially the 11 stories of Rektorat building. It becomes the focal point to its surrounding. This concept was made by the former architect. The centralisation of the buildings was meant to give strong effect to the focal point.Besides its functions, Central Area has some potentials, such as the building characteristics, the far ranging site, the existing vegetation, the lake andthe campus communities. Those potentials could representative the whole site's characterics.The users come from its campus communities and it's very various. 75% is mostly student, 1 O % lecturers, 1 O % employees and 5 % campus's guest. Therefore the need developing programs is make to complete the needs of the whole users. The programs have to cover all the users need base on the type of users, the basic needs, the open source.Design concept was made after setting all the need developing program.Concept for this central area is how to make the outdoor open space worthful and could unify all the open spaces with different type of activities. This design concept is base on the design theme. All those concepts are set to create stronger image of the focal point as the identity of University Indonesia.Central Area is devide into 3 main area. Each area has specific design concepts. After composing the pre design phase with the final area design, the final phase is to draw all the final developing design into final design. All the design processes linkage to one another and there is no independent final design. At last, all the final process of shaping the Central Area to be an identity of University of Indonesia could answers all the main purposes designing the Central Area.
