D Desain Industri adalah kreasi bentuk, konfigurasi, atau komposisi garis dan warna yang memberikan kesan estetis pada suatu produk, komoditas industri maupun kerajinan tangan dapat berupa produk tiga dimensi maupun dua dimensi. Untuk melindungi Desain Industri agar tidak ditiru oleh pihak lain maka masyarakat sebagai pemohon dapat mengajukan permohonan Desain Industri kepada negara melalui Direktorat Jenderal Kekayaan Intelektual. Jenis permohonan Desain Industri ada dua jenis yaitu satu desain industri dan beberapa desain industri berupa suatu kesatuan yang lebih dikenal dengan jenis permohonan Desain Industri set/seperangkat. Namun masih banyak pemohon yang belum memahami kriteria dari jenis permohonan Desain Industri set/seperangkat sesuai dengan aturan yang berlaku saat ini. Untuk itu perlu dikaji bagaimana kriteria Desain Industri set/seperangkat dan bagaimana menyusun suatu instrumen evaluasi yang dapat digunakan untuk mengidentifikasi Desain Industri set/seperangkat sehingga tidak ada lagi kesalahan dalam menentukan jenis permohonan Desain Industri. Pendekatan yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah pendekatan kualitatif dan kuantitatif (mixed method). Pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode Grounded Theory kemudian dilanjut dengan penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif untuk menguji instrument penilaian. Grounded theory menghasilkan konsep kriteria Desain Industri set/seperangkat yang kemudian digunakan untuk menyusun instrument peniliaian berupa suatu check list yang dapat diterapkan dalam pengajuan permohonan Desain Industri set/seperangkat
I Industrial Design is the creation of shapes, configurations or compositions of lines and colors that give an aesthetic impression to a product, industrial commodity or handicraft, which can be in the form of three-dimensional or two-dimensional products. To protect Industrial Designs from being copied by other parties, the public as applicants can apply for Industrial Designs to the state through the Directorate General of Intellectual Property. There are two types of industrial design applications, namely one industrial design and several industrial designs in the form of a unit, which is better known as the type of industrial design application set. However, there are still many applicants who do not understand the exceptions to the types of Industrial Design applications that are determined/set in accordance with the current regulations. For this reason, it is necessary to review the criteria for a set/set of Industrial Designs and how to develop an evaluation instrument that can be used to identify a set/set of Industrial Designs so that there are no more mistakes in determining the type of application for an Industrial Design. The approach used in this study is a qualitative and quantitative approach (mixed methods). A qualitative approach with the Grounded Theory method was then followed up with research using a quantitative approach to test the instrument\'s assessment. Grounded theory produces a set/set of Industrial Design criteria concepts which are then used to develop an assessment instrument in the form of a check list that can be applied in submitting applications for a set/set of Industrial Designs
