Abstrak
Abstract

L Latar belakang: Gigi tiruan sebagian lepasan (GTSL) dapat dibuat dari beberapa macam bahan, yang salah satunya adalah nilon termoplastik. GTSL nilontermoplastik mempunyai sifat yang lebih unggul dari GTSL konvensional, sepertifleksibilitas dan resistensinya terhadap fraktur. Agar perawatan GTSL nilontermoplastik berhasil, diperlukan pengetahuan yang baik, kemampuan klinisi, sertaseleksi kasus yang tepat. Tujuan: Untuk mengetahui gambaran pengetahuan dansikap dokter gigi terhadap penggunaan GTSL nilon termoplastik pada dokter gigiyang berpraktik di Jakarta Barat. Metode: Jenis penelitian observasional deskriptifdengan metode cross-sectional. Sebanyak 113 responden berpartisipasi dalampenelitian ini. Kuesioner yang telah dilakukan uji validitas dan reliabilitasdibagikan melalui Google forms untuk mengukur pengetahuan dan sikap doktergigi. Hasil: Didapatkan responden dengan spesialisasi yang berbeda-beda, yaitudokter gigi umum 85,8% (97), dokter gigi spesialis prostodonti 3,5% (4), dan doktergigi spesialis lain 10,6% (12). Sebagian besar responden mempunyaipengalaman >20 tahun (59,3%). Responden yang memiliki pengetahuan dengankategori kurang sebanyak 59,3% (67), sedang sebanyak 21,2% (24), dan baiksebanyak 19,5% (22). Responden dengan kategori sikap kurang sebanyak 54,9%(62), sedang sebanyak 28,3% (32), dan baik sebanyak 16,8% (19). Kesimpulan:Dapat disimpulkan bahwa pengetahuan dan sikap dokter gigi terhadap penggunaanGTSL nilon termoplastik dalam kategori kurang.

B Background: Removable partial dentures (RPDs) can be made out of a fewdifferent materials, one of them being thermoplastic nylon. Thermoplastic nylonRPDs have properties that make them superior to conventional dentures, such astheir flexibility and resistance to fracture. To ensure the success of thermoplasticnylon RPDs, the dentistsâ€™ knowledge, skills, and accurate selection of cases isneeded. Objectives: To obtain an overview of the knowledge and attitudes of d inJakarta Barat regarding the use of thermoplastic nylon RPDs. Materials andmethods: 113 dentists participated in this study. A validated questionnairecontaining 20 items was given out via Google forms to measure the knowledge andattitudes of the dentists. Results: Different specializations were found amongst therespondents, with 85,8% (97) being general practitioners, 3,5% (4) prosthodontists,and 10,6% (12) other specialists. Most of the respondents have been working as adentist for over 20 years (59,3%). However, the study found that majority ofrespondents have poor knowledge, with it being 59,3% (67), followed by 21,2%(24) with adequate knowledge, and 19,5% (22) with good knowledge. The samecan be said for attitudes, with 54,9% (62) having poor attitude, 28,3% (32) havingadequate attitude, and only 16,8% (19) having good attitude. Conclusion: Basedon the study results, it can be concluded that the knowledge and attitudes of dentistsregarding the use of thermoplastic nylon is poor.
