Prevalensi odontektomi impaksi kaninus dan molar ketiga atas berdasarkan usia (Laporan Penenelitian Deskritif)
T Tujuan Penelitian: mengetahui prevalensi impaksi gigi molar ketiga rahang atas dan kaninus rahang atas berdasarkan usia pasien. di klinik Eksekutif Gigi dan mulut Usakti thn. 2009-2013.
M Maxillary third molar and canine are the most frequent tooth that can be impacted after mandibular third molar. The tooth that is impacted should be removed shortly after the dentist identified them. Extracting an impacted tooth would be more difficult as the patient grows older because the risk of getting systemic disease and complication is higher. Early odontectomy procedure would cause less post-operative morbidity, allows faster healing, and allows the periodontal tissue to regenerate perfectly. Moreover, the procedure is easier to be done at younger age because of the less bone density and the root formation is not perfect. That’s why, to prevent more serious problems, the tooth should be removed immediately. The aim of this research is to determine the prevalence of impacted maxillary third molar and canine’s odontectomy based on the the patient’s chronologic age. This research was taken at Executive Clinic of Trisakti University’s Faculty of Dentistry from year 2009 until 2013. The result shows that most of the patients have their odontectomy procedure done for maxillary third molar at the age of 18-25 years old (65%). For maxillary canine, most of the patients have their odontectomy done at the age of 26-30 years old (50%).
