B BACKGROUNDCoronavirus Disease 19 (COVID-19) is a viral infection that attacks the respiratory tract and is highly contagious caused by Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome Coronavirus 2 (SARS-COV-2). COVID-19 was first discovered in Wuhan, China in 2019. In Indonesia until 2021 as of July 16, 2021, there were 2,726,803 people who had been confirmed to be infected with COVID-19. The Minister of Home Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia took steps to overcome the increase number of COVID-19 infections in the Java and Bali regions by issuing instructions on the Implementation of the Emergency COVID-19 Community Activity Restrictions known as “Pemberlakuan Pembatasan Kegiatan Masyarakat†(PPKM) in the Java and Bali regions. This regulation has an impact on all activities that must be carried out online, including schools and the non-essential worker sector. This has an impact on all levels of society, especially the young adult age group. The implementation of this regulation can have an impact on changes in a person's physical activity so that they are more likely to be more susceptible to being infected with the COVID-19 virus in connection with a decrease in a person's immune system function.METHODThis research was an observational analytic study with a cross-sectional approach and students as research subjects. The sampling technique used in this research was a consecutive non random sampling. Physical activity was measured using the International Physical Activity Questionnare Short Form which then analyzed using the Fisher’s Exact Test with a limit of significance < 0.05.RESULTA total of 94 subjects from the Faculty of Industrial Technology, Trisakti University, West Jakarta participated in this study. Statistical analysis showed that there was a significant correlation between physical activity (P=0.014) and the incidence of COVID-19 infection in young adults.CONCLUSIONAccording to the findings, there is a significant correlation between physical activity and the incidence of COVID-19 infection in young adults.
