C Curcuma xanthorrhiza roxb merupakan salah satu tumbuhan asli Indonesia yang paling sering digunakan oleh masyarakat untuk berbagai macam keperluan sebagai obat tradisional, sumber karbohidrat, penyedap masakan dan minuman, serta pewarna alami makanan, juga kosmetika. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui tingkat bioaktivitas dari ekstrak Curcuma xanthorrhiza Roxb. terhadap Artemia salina Leach. Penelitian eksploratif laboratorik ini menggunakan 150 ekor larva Artemia salina Leach sebagai sampel yang dibagi menjadi 4 kelompok perlakuan yaitu 10; 100; 500; serta 1000 µg/mL, serta 1 kelompok kontrol, masing-masing terdiri dari 10 ekor larva dengan 3 kali replikasi (triplo) untuk setiap kelompok perlakuan. Data jumlah kematian Artemia salina Leach dianalisis dengan analisis probit untuk mengetahui nilai LC50. Penelitian ini menunjukkan nilai LC50 dari ekstrak Curcuma xanthorrhiza Roxb. adalah 97,724 µg/mL. Ekstrak Curcuma xanthorrhiza Roxb. memiliki potensi toksisitas terhadap Artemia salina Leach menurut metode BSLT yang ditunjukkan dengan nilai LC50 30 µg/mL ≤ LC50 ≤ 1000 µg/mL.
C Curcuma xanthorrhiza Roxb. is one of the native plants of Indonesia that is commonly used by people for various purposes as traditional medicine, carbohydrate source, food and beverage additives, and natural food colouring, as well as cosmetics. The purpose of this study was to determine the bioactivity level of Curcuma xanthorrhiza Roxb. extract on Artemia salina Leach. This laboratory exploratory study used 150 larvae of Artemia salina Leach as the samples, and were divided into 4 groups, namely 10; 100; 500; 1000 µg/mL, and one control group, each consists of 10 larvae with 3 replications (triplo) for each treatment group. The number of deaths of Artemia salina Leach were analyzed with probit analysis to determine LC50 values. This study showed the LC50 value of Curcuma xanthorrhiza Roxb. extract is 97,724 µg/mL. Curcuma xanthorrhiza Roxb. extract has a potential toxicity to Artemia salina Leach according to the BSLT method shown with LC50 values 30 µg/mL ≤ LC50 ≤ 1000 µg/mL.
