T Toddler age is an age group that is susceptible to infectious diseases, including ARI and diarrhea due to an immature immune system. The duration and frequency of toddlers being exposed to infectious diseases can affect nutritional status and result in disruption of linear growth at the age of toddlers so that stunting occurs. This condition occurs because toddlers can lose the nutrients needed during their growth period, it is necessary to conduct a study that aims to determine the relationship between a history of infectious diseases and chronic diarrhea on the incidence of stunting at the age of 24-59 months.METHODThis analytical study with a cross-sectional design was conducted in Tangerang Regency from September – October 2021. The sample in this study was 76 children under five who were obtained by simple random sampling. Data was collected through measuring the height of toddlers, questionnaires, and guided interviews. Data analysis was performed by Chi-Square test.RESULTSFrom 76 subjects, it was found that 36 toddlers (47.4%) had a history of infectious diseases and the majority of respondents 20 toddlers (55.6%) were stunted. While respondents with a history of chronic diarrhea were 19 toddlers (25%) and almost all respondents, 14 toddlers (73.7%) were stunted. Based on the Chi-Square test, there was a relationship between a history of infectious disease and chronic diarrhea on the incidence of stunting at the age of 24-59 months with p<0.05.CONCLUSIONA history of infectious diseases and chronic diarrhea that children have suffered from are factors that can cause stunting.
