C COVID-19 telah menjadi pandemik di dunia. SARS-CoV-2 utamanya menyerang sistem respirasi.

C COVID-19 has become a worldwide pandemic. SARS-CoV-2 primarily attacks the respiratory system. COVID-19 patients with comorbidity are at a higher risk to experience a more severe COVID-19. Asthma is the most common pulmonary comorbidity associated with COVID-19. The population aged 19 – 28 years, 29 – 38 years, 39 – 48 years, and 49 – 58 years are the 4 age ranges with the most COVID-19 sufferers in Jakarta. This study was conducted to determine the relationship between asthma comorbidity and the severity of COVID-19 cases at the age of 19 – 58 years.METHODThe method used are bservational analysis with a cross-sectional study design using medical records of 110 patients who got positive results on the COVID-19 RT-PCR test at Pasar Rebo Hospital between May 2021 - July 2021 who were 19 – 58 years old and had no comorbidities such as diabetes, COPD, hypertension, heart disease, kidney disease, obesity, and immune disease. The variables that were collected and studied were age, gender, asthma comorbidity and severity of COVID-19 cases. The data analysis used Chi-square and Fisher's exact test and processed with SPSS 25th edition with a significance level of 0.05.RESULTSThe results of the analysis between gender and the severity of COVID-19 cases showed p value = 0.461 > 0.05, meaning H0 was accepted and it can be said that there was no statistically significant relationship between the severity of COVID-19 cases and gender. The results between the analysis of age and the severity of COVID-19 cases resulted in a p value = 0.015 < 0.05, so H0 was rejected and it can be said that there is a relationship between the severity of COVID-19 cases and age. Lastly, the results of the analysis between asthma comorbidity and the severity of COVID-19 cases obtained a p value = 0.00001 < 0.05 so that H0 was rejected and the it can be concluded that there was a relationship between the severity of COVID-19 cases and asthma comorbidty.CONCLUSIONThis study found that there was no relationship between age and the severity of COVID-19 cases, but there was a relationship between gender and the severity of COVID-19 cases and there was a relationship between asthma comorbidity and the severity of COVID-19 cases
