L Latar Belakang: Perbedaan profil wajah setelah perawatan ortodonti itu penting dalam perawatan ortodonti karena salah satu tujuan perawatan ortodonti adalah meningkatkan estetika wajah. Profil wajah konveks yang memerlukan kasus pencabutan premolar pertama paling banyak menjadi keluhan pasien ortodonti di Asia Pasifik. Kasus tersebut memiliki ciri meningkatnya kecembungan profil bibir sehingga perlu dilihat ada atau tidak perbedaan posisi bibir dari sebelum dan sesudah perawatan ortodonti. Beberapa penelitian membuktikan adanya perbedaan posisi bibir yang signifikan setelah perawatan ortodonti dengan ekstraksi premolar pertama. Perawatan ortodonti dengan pencabutan keempat gigi premolar pertama harus dilakukan seorang ortodontis. Analisis Ricketts banyak digunakan untuk mengetahui perbedaan posisi bibir secara klinis. Tujuan: Untuk mengetahui perbedaan posisi bibir setelah perawatan ortodonti dengan ekstraksi premolar pertama menggunakan analisis Ricketts di Klinik Alexis Dental Care Bandung. Metode: Jenis penelitian yang digunakan pada penelitian ini adalah observasional analitik dengan desain studi potong silang. Penelitian dilakukan pada 30 sampel radiografi sefalogram lateral sebelum dan sesudah perawatan di Klinik Alexis Dental Care Bandung. Perbedaan posisi bibir sebelum dan setelah perawatan ortodonti dengan ekstraksi premolar pertama ditentukan dengan menggunakan analisis Ricketts. Hasil pengukuran dianalisis secara statistik menggunakan uji t-berpasangan. Hasil: Di Klinik Alexis Dental Care Bandung, didapatkan perbedaan signifikan terhadap posisi bibir atas dan bibir bawah ke arah posterior setelah perawatan ortodonti dengan ekstraksi premolar pertama dengan tingkat signifikansi <0,001. Pada profil wajah konveks, relasi normal bibir tidak lebih dari 2 mm di depan atau sedikit menyentuh E-line. Kesimpulan: Di Klinik Alexis Dental Care Bandung, adanya perbedaan signifikan posisi bibir ke posterior setelah perawatan ortodonti dengan ekstraksi premolar pertama.
B Background: The difference in facial profile after orthodontic treatment is important in orthodontic treatment because one of the goal of orthodontic treatment is to improve facial esthetic. Convex facial profiles that require first premolar extraction are the most common complaints of orthodontic patients in Asia Pacific. This case is characterized by an increased lip profile procumbency so that needs to be seen is there any difference in the position of the lips from before and after orthodontic treatment. Some of studies proved that there was a significant difference in lip position after orthodontic treatment with the extraction of the first premolar teeth. Ricketts analysis is widely used to determine clinical differences in lip position. Orthodontic treatment with the extraction of the four first premolars should be performed by an orthodontist. Objective: To determine the difference in lip position after orthodontic treatment with extraction of the first premolar using Ricketts analysis in Alexis Dental Care Clinic Bandung. Methods: This study was observational analytic with a cross-sectional study design. The study was conducted on 30 samples of lateral cephalogram radiographs before and after treatment at Alexis Dental Care Clinic Bandung. The difference in lip position after orthodontic treatment and extraction of the first premolar teeth was determined using the Ricketts analysis. The measurement results were statistically analyzed with paired T-test. Result: In Alexis Dental Care Clinic Bandung, there was a significance difference in the position of the upper lip and the lower lip move posteriorly after orthodontic treatment with first premolar extraction with a significance level of <0.001. In a convex facial profile, the normal relation of the lips not more than 2 mm in front or slightly touching the E-line. Conclusion: In Alexis Dental Care Clinic Bandung, there has been significant differences in the position of the lips posteriorly after orthodontic treatment with the extraction of the first premolar teeth.
