OR “MIH†OR “developmental enamel defects†OR “cheese molars†OR “idiopathic enamel hypomineralization of permanent teeth†OR “nonflouride hypomineralization of permanent teeth†OR “dental enamel defects†OR “hypomineralised permanent molars†OR “hypomineralised permanent incisors†OR “dermacated opacities†OR “enamel hypomineralization†OR “mottled enamel developmental opacitiesâ€) AND (“treatment†OR “ dental treatmentâ€)) AND (“children†OR “childâ€))).
B ackground: Molar Incisor Hypomineralization (MIH) is an enamel developmental defect affecting one or more first permanent molar and incisors. Currently, there is no standardized treatment for teeth affected by MIH. Objective: This study aimed to determine the treatments that can be performed on teeth with MIH. Methods: The research was conducted using a Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses (PRISMA) diagram through databases such as PubMed, Embase, and Scopus using keywords of ((((“molar incisor hypomineralization†OR “MIH†OR “developmental enamel defects†OR “cheese molars†OR “idiopathic enamel hypomineralization of permanent teeth†OR “nonfluoride hypomineralization of permanent teeth†OR “dental enamel defects†OR “hypomineralised permanent molars†OR “hypomineralised permanent incisors†OR “dermacated opacities†OR “enamel hypomineralization†OR “mottled enamel developmental opacitiesâ€) AND (“treatment†OR “ dental treatmentâ€)) AND (“children†OR “childâ€))). Results: The results showed that initial search yielded 926 articles. After eliminating duplicate studies and screening full-text articles for eligibility 50 results were obtained, and the authors identified 33 articles that met the criteria for inclusion in this study. Conclusion: Based on the results of this study, it can be concluded that various treatment options can be given to MIH teeth that are adjusted to the severity of the condition, with the main objective of resorting the function and aesthetics of the teeth.
