Gambaran gejala body dysmorphic disorder pada pasien perawatan estetika gigi di RSGM-P FKG Universitas Trisakti
L atar Belakang: Body dysmorphic disorder merupakan suatu gangguan psikiatri terkait penampilan fisik dan banyak ditemukan pada praktik perawatan estetika, salah satunya perawatan estetika gigi. Beberapa tanda-tanda gejala kecenderungan body dysmorphic disorder adalah perilaku obsesif terhadap ketidaksempurnaan penampilan fisiknya, perilaku berulang, berusaha menutupi defek fisik, dan lain sebagainya. Tindakan perawatan gigi atas keluhan estetika pasien-pasien ini tidak akan memberikan perbaikan atas masalah mereka. Tujuan: Untuk mengetahui gambaran gejala body dysmorphic disorder pada pasien perawatan estetika gigi. Metode: Penelitian dilakukan pada pasien perawatan estetika gigi di RSGM-P FKG Universitas Trisakti. Jenis penelitian ini adalah observasional deskriptif. Penentuan sampel digunakan teknik total sampling dengan pengambilan data melalui penyebaran hardcopy kuesioner DCQ (Dysmorphic Concern Questionnaire) secara luring kepada 40 responden. Hasil Penelitian: Ditemukan sebanyak 80% dari seluruh responden memiliki kecenderungan body dysmorphic disorder. Kecenderungan ini paling banyak ditemukan pada responden perempuan, pada kelompok usia remaja akhir, dewasa awal, dan dewasa akhir dan mayoritas pada perawatan gigi tiruan cekat. Gejala-gejala yang terjadi adalah sangat memperhatikan beberapa aspek penampilan fisik, menganggap penampilan mereka kurang menarik, menghabiskan banyak waktu mengkhawatirkan dan menutupi kekurangan tampilan fisik mereka. Kesimpulan: Gejala yang paling banyak ditemukan pada mayoritas responden dengan kecenderungan body dysmorphic disorder dalam penelitian ini adalah pikiran obsesif, dimana mereka sangat memperhatikan beberapa aspek dari penampilan fisik mereka.
B ackground: Body dysmorphic disorder is a psychiatric disorder related to physical appearance and is commonly found in aesthetic treatment practices, one of it is dental aesthetic treatment. Some signs of a tendency toward body dysmorphic disorder are obsessive behavior towards imperfect physical appearance, repetitive behavior, trying to cover up physical defects, and so on. Dental treatment for these patients' aesthetic complaints will not improve their problems. Objective: To describe the symptoms of body dysmorphic disorder in patients with aesthetic dental treatment. Methods: The study was conducted on aesthetic dental treatment patients at RSGM-P Faculty of Dentistry, Trisakti University. This type of research is descriptive observational. The total sampling technique was used to determine the sample by collecting data by distributing hardcopy DCQ (Dysmorphic Concern Questionnaire) questionnaires offline to 40 respondents. Results: It was found that 80% of all respondents had a tendency towards body dysmorphic disorder. This tendency was most commonly found in female respondents, in the late adolescent, early adult, and late adult age groups and the majority were in fixed denture treatment. The symptoms that occur are very concerned about several aspects of physical appearance, consider their appearance to be less attractive, spend a lot of time worrying about and cover up their lack of physical appearance. Conclusion: The most common symptom found in the majority of respondents with a tendency towards body dysmorphic disorder in this study was obsessive thoughts, in which they are very concerned about several aspects of their physical appearance.
