Perbedaan status kesehatan gigi diantara dua kelompok anak Sekolah Proto Malayid di Indonesia
T Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk membandingkan profil karies gigi pada gigi permanen 10 kepada anak-anak sekolah berusia 13 tahun di Kelimutu dan Manise, Indonesia Timur. Metode: Penampang melintangPenelitian dilakukan pada 716 anak (386 tinggal di Kelimutu, 230 di Manise) berusia 10-13 tahun.Gigi permanen dievaluasi dalam pemeriksaan mulut menggunakan indeks DMFT untuk profil kariesdan OHI-S untuk kebersihan mulut. Data dianalisis menggunakan uji t siswa untuk membandingkan DMF-T dan uji Mann Whitney untuk membandingkan OHI-S. Hasil: Rerata OHI-S pada mata pelajaran Kelimutu dan Manisediamati setinggi 1,42 dan 1,67 masing-masing. Namun, tidak ada perbedaan yang signifikandiamati pada OHI-S antara subjek Kelimutu dan Manise (p= 0,23). Rerata (SD) DMF-T dalamKelimutu dan Manise diamati masing-masing setinggi 2,19 (0,68) dan 3,36 (1,23) per anak.DMF-T pada anak Manise diamati secara signifikan lebih tinggi dibandingkan dengan Kelimutu (p= 0,009).Kesimpulan: Dua Proto Melayu dari daerah yang berbeda di Indonesia Timur tidak memiliki perbedaan profil yang signifikandalam kebersihan mulut tetapi memiliki perbedaan dalam profil karies
T The objectives of the present study were to compare dental caries profile in the permanent dentition of 10to 13-year-old schoolchildren in Kelimutu and Manise, East Indonesia. Methodes: A cross-sectionalstudy was carried out in 716 children (386 were lived in Kelimutu, 230 were in Manise) aged 10-13 years.The permanent dentition of were evaluated in the oral examinations using DMFT index for caries profileand OHI-S for oral hygiene. Data were analyzed using Students t test for comparing DMF-T and MannWhitney test for comparing OHI-S. Result: The means of OHI-S in the Kelimutu and Manise subjectswere observed as high as 1.42 and 1.67 respectively. However, there was no significance differenceobserved in OHI-S between Kelimutu and Manise subjects (p= 0.23). The means (SD) of DMF-T inKelimutu and Manise were observed as high as 2.19(0.68) and 3.36(1.23) teeth per children respectively.The DMF-T in Manise children was observed significantly higher compare with Kelimutu (p= 0.009).Conclusion: Two Proto Malay from different area in East Indonesia have no significance different profilein oral hygiene but have difference in caries profile
