P Pesatnya pertumbuhan teknologi telekomunikasi menyebabkan meningkamya permintaan akan jaringan telekomunikasi yang handal dan berkualitas. Sistem komunikasi optik dengan segala kelebihannya mulai diterapkan untuk menggantikan sistem komunikasi konvensional seperti kabel tembaga. Hirarki pentransmisian plesiochronous pertama kali digunakan dalam sistem komunikasi optik. Karena hirarki ini mempunyai beberapa kelemahan, maka dibuat standarisasi pentransmisian yang barn yang dikenal dengan Synchronous Digital Hierarchy. Jaringan transmisi SDH m punyai beberapa kelebihan, antara lain peralatan jaringan yang lebih seder na sertIa. kemudahan dalam proses multiplex dan demultiplex. Jaringan nsmis. D um Ya menggunakan ring topology. karena jaringan ini mempooyai baik dibanding topologi jaringanlain.Dalam merancang suatu jaringan transmisi SDH, harus diperhatikan power budget dan total loss dari suatu jaringan transmisi. Selain itu, power budget juaa berperan dalam menentukan konfigurasi jaringan yang akan dibuat. Penggunaan kapasitas pentransmisian dilakukan berdasarkan pertimbangan besarnya aliran data yang akan ditransmisikan melalui jaringan tersebut.
T The rapid growth of telecommunications technology has led to an increasing demand for reliable and high-quality telecommunications networks. Optical communication systems, with all their advantages, have begun to be implemented to replace conventional communication systems such as copper cables. The plesiochronous transmission hierarchy was first used in optical communication systems. Because this hierarchy has several weaknesses, a new transmission standardization known as the Synchronous Digital Hierarchy was created. SDH transmission networks have several advantages, including simpler network equipment and ease of multiplexing and demultiplexing. NSMI networks often use a ring topology because this network offers better performance than other network topologies.When designing an SDH transmission network, the power budget and total loss of a transmission network must be considered. Furthermore, the power budget also plays a role in determining the network configuration. Transmission capacity is determined based on the size of the data flow to be transmitted through the network.
