T The World Health Organization (WHO) and the United Nations International Children's Emergency Fund (UNICEF) recommend exclusive breastfeeding in the first 6 months of life. The Baseline Sustainable Development Goals 2017 report for babies who are exclusively breastfed for the first 6 months of life in 2015 is 45%, this shows that the government has not reached the target of 80%. The factors of exclusive breastfeeding are age of mother, education mothers, occupation mothers and early initiation of breastfeeding. Maternal psychological conditions such as depression can affect exclusive breastfeeding. However, other studies do not show a relationship between exclusive breastfeeding. Based on the differences in the results of the study the researchers were interested in examining relationship between depression and exclusive breastfeeding in mothers of 7-12 months old infants. This study used an observational analytic study design with a cross sectional approach, followed by 167 respondent mothers at Grogol Petamburan District Health Center in West Jakarta. Data analysis using a questionnaire. Data analysis is performed by using chi-square test with significance level p<0.05, SPSS for windows version 25.0. Analysis showed significant relationship between depression and exclusive breastfeeding in mothers of 7-12 months old infants (p=0,019). The factors that influenced the success of breastfeeding were : mother age of 20-35 years old, not working, and early initiation of breastfeeding. There is a relationship between depression and exclusive breastfeeding in mothers of 7-12 months old infants
