P Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menguji pengaruh political connections terhadapcompanies' performance and value pada perusahaan sektor infrastruktur, utilitas,dan transportasi yang terdaftar di Bursa Efek Indonesia. Variabel dependen dalampenelitian ini yaitu companies' perfromance dan companies' value sedangkanvariabel independen yang digunakan adalah political connections. Teknikpengambilan sampel yang digunakan adalah purposive sampling. Sampel yangdigunakan sebanyak 25 perusahaan yang bergerak pada sektor infrastruktur,utilitas, dan transportasi yang terdaftar di Bursa Efek Indonesia selama periode2013 hingga 2018. Alat analisis yang digunakan adalah regresi data panel denganmenggunakan software Eviews 9. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwapolitical connections tidak memiliki pengaruh terhadap companies' performanceyang diukur dengan return on asset namun memiliki pengaruh positif terhadapcompanies' performance yang diukur dengan Tobin's Q. Sedangkan politicalconnections tidak memiliki pengaruh terhadap companies' value. Implikasi daripenelitian ini adalah sebaiknya perusahaan memperhatikan political connectionssehingga dapat meningkatkan companies' performance.
T This study aims to examine the influence of political connections on companies'performance and value in infrastructure, utilities and transportation companieslisted on the Indonesia Stock Exchange. The dependent variable in this research iscompanies 'performance and companies' value while the independent variableused is political connections. The sampling technique used was purposivesampling. The samples used were 25 companies engaged in the infrastructure,utilities, and transportation sectors listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange duringthe period 2013 to 2018. The analysis tool used was panel data regression usingEviews 9. The results of this study indicate that political connections are not hasan influence on companies' performance as measured by return on assets but has apositive effect on companies' performance as measured by Tobin's Q. Whilepolitical connections has no effect on companies' value. The implication of thisresearch is that companies should pay attention to political connections so thatthey can improve companies' performance.
