I Indonesia is a maritime country whose oceans become one of the country’s most important natural resources. However, the Indonesian people still show little concern about preserving the oceans that the country has. Oceanarium, which is both a recreational and an educational center, is one of the recreation spots that acts as an information and conservation facility in the form of an aquarium for marine animals and plants. This facility is located in the Neo Soho Mall, Jakarta. The place provides information about paleontological history of fish and fish species based on the trophic level in the Sunlight Zone, which starts from the sea surface to the depth of 200 meters below sea level. Based on the research done at Neo Soho Jakarta Aquarium and Sea World Ancol, a problem was found in the interior designing of both oceanariums. A good design for an oceanarium should pay attention to the aspects of the users, the recreation and education, and the use of interactive information technology, so that it can result in a maximum use of space and in a supportive environment for people of all ages and people with disabilities. The method used in the research is qualitative descriptive research method.The interior designing for the Recreational and Educational Center Oceanarium, themed Stunning Scenery of Life Inside The Sea, will include nonphysical aspects that will give visual satisfaction for the visitors and improve the visitors’ love for the ocean and its habitants. Peaceful but Mysterious is the image which is aimed to be created through futuristic styles. The designing of the physical aspects such as the interior elements, colors, shapes, circulation, lighting, ventilation, furniture and technology, applies the green design concept through the choice of environment-friendly materials and technology. Those aspects are applied in the interior design to create a comfortable and satisfying recreational and educational experience for the visitors.
