I Identifikasi forensik, salah satunya penentuan usia, melalui gigi merupakan metode identifikasi primer yang dapat diandalkan. Salah satu cara yang baik memperkirakan usia melalui gigi dengan mengukur deposisi dentin sekunder. Dengan metode non-invasif yaitu dengan mengukur aspek-aspek tertentu dari radiograf sebuah atau beberapa gigi, sehingga tidak perlu menggunakan gigi yang sudah diekstraksi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hbungan antara usia dengan pengukuran dentin sekunder berdasarkan metode PCTHR(pulp crown root trunk height ratio) pada orang Indonesia. Radiograf periapikal gigi molar pertama rahang bawah diambil dari 25 sampel yang dibagi dalam 5 kelompok umur, kemudian dilakukan pengukuran dan perhitungan perkiraan usia menggunakan metode PCTHR.

F Forensic identification – one of which is age estimation – from teeth is one of the most reliable primary identification methods. One favorable way to estimate age from teeth is to measure the deposition of secondary dentin. A non-invasive method – to measure certain aspects from a radiograph of one or several tooth – to estimate age from the measurement of secondary dentin is needed, so there will be no need to extract the tooth(s). The purpose of this research is to find out if there is any correlation between age and secondary dentin measurements using the PCTHR (pulp chamber crown root trunk height ratio) method in Indonesians. Periapical radiographs of first lower molars were obtained from 25 samples divided into five age groups, then measurements were done and estimated age was calculated using the PCTHR method. Linear regression equation from the PCTHR method used for estimated age calculation could not produce a constant estimated age for all five age groups. The aspects measured in the PCTHR method – which were supposed to prove the correlation between secondary dentin deposition and increasing of age – were not much affected by the increasing of age.
