T The design of convention & expo center buildings in Surakarta is influenced by the ever-increasing condition of Surakarta City. These developments make the demands of the entry of the world MICE (Meeting, Incentive, Convention, Exhibition) which aims to improve the tourism industry. The four activities require a forum, which is a convention building & expo center. Geographically, the city of Surakarta has a strategic location which is located at the intersection of the national transportation route in the southern part of Central Java and covers services to the eastern part of West Java. The city of Surakarta itself has a convention center building, but there are still limited convention and exhibition facilities if you want to hold more than one event at the same time. The rapid economic growth and infrastructure development in the city of Surakarta, it is appropriate to have MICE facilities that can accommodate international-scale activities. The TOR regarding the convention & expo center building design plan was adopted as the initial idea for working on the design objects in the Final Architecture Project as the acquisition of a Bachelor of Architecture degree. The application of the design that has been done is the Contemporary architecture approach. As one of the Icon Buildings in the city of Surakarta with a comparison of elements of culture and modern elements.
