T To build an app for a mobile operating system platform natively requires some development tools provided by the operating system vendor, which only supports the programming languages that are recognized by the mobile operating system. This causes build native applications are not portable, because the application is built for a specific platform can not be used in different platforms, due to differences in the binary format of each mobile app. The portability constraints is affecting the cost for development and mobile application development for multiplatform. So the authors were interested in conducting research in which a mobile hybrid application development is a mobile application that is built using a combination of the native web. This research aims to solve the problem of portability of applications then to introduce native mobile application development methods with a hybrid method. In this research the authors implement newspicker application is an application that can load the newssiLrom several news sources specified in realtime. To test this hybrid method the aut 'Ws i Lake only one source code only in HTML 5 -ising jquery mobile framework interface to IBM's application interface and application framework worklight as ,a hybrid. Then to test the portability of applications made compilation is done on two different platforms, namely Android and iOS. So by using this hybrid method can solve the problem for cross-platform portability. Based on the results of the implementation by using a hybrid method successfully build applications newspicker author. According to the test results on android and iOS devices, newspicker applications can run well and portability problems can be solved.
