Abstrak
Abstract

C Clinacanthus nutans telah digunakan secara tradisional sebagairamuan obat di benua asia dengan suhu tropis untuk mengobati berbagai penyakitseperti gigitan serangga, diabetes mellitus, diuretik dan demam. Penelitiansebelumnya telah melaporkan bahwa C. nutans memiliki aktivitas sitotoksisitas,antiproliferasi, antioksidan dan antiinflamasi. Tujuan: Penelitian ini dilakukanuntuk mengetahui pengaruh pemberian ekstrak daun C. nutans terhadapproliferasi sel Human oral squamous cell carcinoma (HSC-3). Metode: Pengujianproliferasi sel HSC-3 yang diberikan ekstrak daun C. nutans pada konsentrasi100%, 50%, 25% dan 10% berdasarkan terjadinya perubahan warna yang diukurdengan microplate reader pada panjang gelombang 595nm. Hasil: Hasilpenelitian menunjukan nilai p< 0,05 yaitu antara kontrol negatif dengan kontrolpositif, antara kontrol negatif dan ekstrak daun C. nutans 25% dan 100%; antarakontrol positif dengan ekstrak daun C. nutans 10%; antara ekstrak daun C. nutans10% dengan ekstrak daun C. nutans 25%, 50% dan 100% sehingga dapatdinyatakan signifikan. Kesimpulan: Penelitian ini menunjukan bahwa ekstrakdaun C. nutans dapat menurunkan kemampuan proliferasi sel HSC-3, dengansemakin tinggi konsentrasi ekstrak maka semakin rendah pula aktivitas proliferasisel HSC-3.

C Clinacanthus nutans is widely used as a traditional medicine inSoutheast Asia for various diseases such as insect bite, diabetes, as a diuretic, andfever. The previous study stated that C. nutans have toxic ability and also antiproliferation,antioxidant and anti-inflammatory activity. Aims: This study aimsto determine the effect of C. nutans leaf extract on the proliferation of Humanoral squamous cell carcinoma (HSC-3). Methods: The examination of cell HSC-3 proliferation is based on the color change with the concentration of 100%, 50%,25%, and 10% C. nutans extract as measured by a microplate reader at 595nmwavelength. Result: The result of this examination shows the p-value was lessthan 0.05 namely between the negative and positive control; between negativecontrol and 25% and 100% of C. nutans extract, between positive control and10% of C. nutans extract; between 10% of C. nutans extract and 25%, 50%, and100% of C. nutans extract, so it can be stated that the data is significant.Conclusion: The result of this examination proved that the C. nutans extract candecrease the proliferation activity of HSC-3 cells, the higher concentration of theextract can cut down the proliferation activity of HSC-3 cells.
