L LATAR BELAKANG Leukorea/ keputihan/ fluor albus merupakan masalah reproduksi yang sering terjadi pada perempuan. Tingginya angka kejadian leukorea dapat disebabkan oleh kurangnya kesadaran dalam menjaga kebersihan dan kesehatan organ reproduksi, misalnya dengan penggunaan sabun ekstrak daun sirih (Piper betle l). Namun, terdapat perbedaan hasil penelitian tentang khasiat ekstrak daun sirih. Oleh karena itu perlu dilakukan penelitian untuk mengetahui hubungan penggunaan sabun ekstrak daun sirih dan leukorea pada perempuan usia subur. METODE Penelitian menggunakan studi desain deskriptif analitik dengan pendekatan potong silang yang mengikutsertakan 72 perempuan usia subur (15-49 tahun) di Kp. Curug Rt 01/ Rw 01 Cibinong, Bogor. Data dikumpulkan dengan cara wawancara menggunakan daftar pertanyaan yang meliputi karakteristik responden, frekuensi dan cara penggunaan sabun ekstrak daun sirih, dan kejadian leukorea. Analisis data dengan menggunakan SPSS for Windows versi 19.0 dan tingkat kemaknaan yang digunakan besarnya 0,05. HASIL Responden yang mengalami leukorea (76,4%) sebagian besar adalah yang berusia lebih dari 35 tahun (51,4%), tingkat penghasilan di bawah UMR (

B BACKGROUND Leucorrhea/white discharge/ fluor albus is one of the reproductive problem for women. High incident number of leucorrhea can be caused by lack of awareness in protect hygiene and health of reproductive organ, such as the use of Piper betle extract soap. Several studies indicate a different result about efficacy of Piper betle extract. Therefore, a study was conducted to know the correlation between use of Piper betle extract soap and leucorrhea among women of child-bearing age. METHODS A cross-sectional study was conducted and a total of 72 women of child-bearing age (15-49 years old) were included at Kp. Curug Rt 01/ Rw 01, Pakansari sub-district, Cibinong district, Bogor sub-province. Data collection was by questions list-based interviews, covering respondentâ€™s characteristics, frequency, way of use of Piper betle extract soap, and leucorrhea. Data analysis was performed using SPSS for Windows release 19.0 and level of significance was set at 0,05. RESULTS Respondents who have leucorrhea as much as (76,4%). Most of them are more than 35 years old (51,4%), income rate is under the minimum wage (less than Rp 2.590.000,00) (73,6%), married women (79,2%), and graduate of senior high school (58,3%). Respondent who using Piper betle extract soap more than 3 times a week (19,5%) have a little chance to get leucorrhea than who using 1-3 times a week (27,7%) and who do not using it (29,2%). But Chi-square Test showed no correlation significantly (p=0,345). Most of respondent using Piper betle extract soap through extravaginal (59,7%) and there is no one who using it by intravaginal. CONCLUSIONS More often the use of Piper betle extract soap, so that the incident number of leucorrhea will be lower. Although it isnâ€™t significant statistically.
