Efek antibakteri ekstrak daun alpukat (persea americana) terhadap fusobacterium nucleatum atcc 25586 secara in vitro (Laporan Penelitian)
L Latar Belakang : Masalah kesehatan gigi dan mulut terus meningkat seiringberjalannya waktu. Penyakit periodontal merupakan salah satu masalah kesehatangigi dan mulut dengan prevalensi yang cukup tinggi di lingkungan masyarakat.Fusobacterium nucleatum adalah salah satu bakteri Gram negatif anaerob yangmenyebabkan penyakit periodontal. Daun alpukat (Persea americana) dipercayamemiliki kandungan antibakteri saponin, flavonoid, tanin, fenol, steroid, danalkaloid. Tujuan : Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melihat adanya efek antibakteriekstrak daun alpukat (Persea americana) terhadap Fusobacterium nucleatumATCC 25586. Metode : Eksperimental laboratorium dengan rancangan post testcontrol group design. Ekstrak daun alpukat didapat dengan metode maserasimenggunakan etanol 96%. Pengujian efek antibakteri dengan metode dilusi agar.Konsentrasi yang digunakan adalah 100%, 50%, 25%, 12,5%, 6,25%, 3,125%,1,56%, 0,78%, klorheksidin 0,2% sebagai kontrol positif, dan DMSO 40% sebagaikontrol negatif. Hasil : Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa ekstrak daun alpukat(Persea americana) memiliki efek antibakteri terhadap Fusobacterium nucleatumdengan nilai Konsentrasi Hambat Minimum (KHM) pada konsentrasi 50% dan nilaiKonsentrasi Bunuh Minimum (KBM) pada konsentrasi 100%. Kesimpulan :Ekstrak daun alpukat (Persea americana) memiliki efek antibakteri terhadappertumbuhan Fusobacterium nucleatum.
B Background : Dental and oral health problems are gradually increasing over time.Periodontal disease is one of oral health problems that has high prevalence in thecommunity. Fusobacterium nucleatum is an anaerobic Gram negative bacteria,which is one of those bacteria that give rise to a periodontal disease. Avocado leaf(Persea americana) is believed to have antibacterial compounds consist ofsaponins, flavonoids, tannins, phenols, steroids, and alkaloids. Objective : The aimof this study is to examine the antibacterial effect of the avocado leaf extract(Persea americana) against Fusobacterium nucleatum ATCC 25586. Methods :The type of this study was an experimental laboratory with a post test control groupdesign. Avocado leaf extract is obtained by maceration method using 96% ethanol.The concentrations was divide into 100%, 50%, 25%, 12.5%, 6.25%, 3.125%,1.56%, 0.78%, the 0.2% chlorhexidine was used as positive control, and DMSO40% was used as negative control. The antibacterial effect test was done by agardilution method. Results : The results showed that the avocado leaf extract has anantibacterial effect on Fusobacterium nucleatum with a Minimum InhibitoryConcentration (MIC) value at 50% concentration and a Minimum BactericidalConcentration (MBC) value at 100% concentration. Conclusion : Avocado leafextract (Persea americana) has an antibacterial effect on the growth ofFusobacterium nucleatum.
