Abstract

T Terdapat berbagai teori penyebab skoliosis, tetapi faktor penyebab sebenarnyamasih tidak dapat diketahui secara pasti. Meskipun skoliosis adalah sebuahkondisi yang idiopatik, namun ada berbagai faktor yang mendukungprogresitivitas maupun inisiasi dari skoliosis. Sebuah penelitian mendapatkanpenggunaan tas yang beratnya melebihi 10% berat badan dapat menimbulkanperubahan postur tubuh. Oleh karena itu, perlu dilakukan penelitian untukmeneliti hubungan penggunaan tas bahu dengan kejadian skoliosis.METODEPenelitian ini merupakan penelitian kuantitatif yang bersifat deskripsi analitikdengan pendekatan potong silang (cross sectional) dengan sampel sebanyak 50mahasiswi Fakultas Kedokteran Trisakti. Data dikumpulkan dengan kuesioner danpemeriksaan Adam's foward bending test. Analisis data menggunakan programSPSS versi 17 untuk Windows.HASILUji korelasi antara variabel menggunakan uji Chi-Square didapatkan hanyavariabel berat tas dan lama penggunaan tas yang ada hubungan dengan kejadianskoliosis pada mahasiswi fakultas kedokteran Trisakti.KESIMPULANPenelitian ini menandakan bahwa secara tidak langsung terdapat hubungan antarapenggunaan tas bahu dengan kejadian skoliosis jika digunakan dalam waktu >4tahun dengan berat tas melebihi 10% berat badan

T There are various theories of the causes of scoliosis, but the causes are actuallystill can not be known with certainty. Although scoliosis is an idiopathiccondition, but there are various factors that support the progressivity and initiationof scoliosis. A study of using a bag that weigh are more than 10% of the bodyweight can lead to changes in posture. Therefore, it is necessary examine theassociation between using a shoulder bag with the incidence of scoliosis.METHODSThis research is a quantitative analytical descriptions with cross-sectionalapproach with a sample of 50 female students of the Faculty of Medicine ofTrisakti. Data were collected by questionnaire and examination of Adam's fowardbending test. Data analysis using SPSS version 17 for Windows.RESULTSCorrelation between variables using Chi-Square test is obtained only variable ofthe bags weigh and how many years have they been using bags have realationwith the incidence of scoliosis in medical school student Trisakti.CONCLUSIONThis study indicates that there is a relation between the use of a shoulder bag withthe incidence of scoliosis if used within > 4 years with bag exceeds more than10% of weigh.
