Comparative studi of chemical characteristics between surfactant and surfactant-polymeter in "A" field, South Sumatera
F Field "A" in South Sumatera is One of Indonesia’s old fields focused on enhanced oil recovery (EOR) implementation. After passing through the screening process, Chemical Injections is the best method that can be implemented and this report shows which comparison of chemical use is most advantageous. Surfactant based processes can recover trapped and by passed oil to drastically reduce interfacial tension to improve the displacement efficiency. In laboratory, the surfactant that studied was Polyethylene Glycol with Three concentrations ie. 0.3%, 0.5% and 1 %. The rheological test conducted to determine the viscosity of surfactant used is greater than the oil viscosity, filtration test is done to determine the surfactant doesn’t precipitate. The thermal test at reservoir temperature (60oC) and compatibility test is intended to determine the compatibility between surfactant and water formation. The initial plan was Surfactant to be injected in the field "A". However, based on experiments in the laboratory and literature study, the combined solution of Surfactant-Polymer was being investigated. Polymers that aim to control injection water mobility by improving their viscosity can improve sweep efficiency. FP3230S which is polyacrylamideS product, was used with Two concentrations ie. 500 ppm and 1000 ppm. The same test as before using the best polymer among the Three. A key factor leading to this good performance is surfactant, ensure the emulsification of oil to facilitate production and polymer can create a slug to prevent fingering, the result shown that solution 0.3% of Surfactant combined with 500 ppm of Polymer had the greatest oil recovery when the spontaneous imbibition was done. This report provides the feasibility study of affordable chemical injection in Indonesia’s field for further learning that can be traced, the reference to develop CEOR within an existing operation and simple explanation of EOR knowledge path forward to public to be more concerned about Oil and Gas energy in Indonesia.
