Abstract

R Respon pulpa pada setiap individu berbeda-beda. Beberapa peneliti sudah membuktikan bahwa EPT dapat digunakan untuk meneliti respon pulpa terhadap nyeri. Vitalitas, maturasi, dan gender ikut berperan pada respon pulpa terhadap stimulus nyeri. Peran gender terhadap respon pulpa masih merupakan hal yang terus diperdebatkan. Hingga saat ini, masih belum diketahui apakah terdapat perbedaan respon pulpa pada laki-laki dan perempuan. Oleh karena itu penelitian ini dilakukan di FKG Usakti menggunakan sampel sebanyak 60 orang ( 30 laki-laki dan 30 perempuan). Gigi yang diteliti adalah Pâ‚ bawah asimptomatik yang memiliki vitalitas dan maturasi setara. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukan nilai rata-rata EPT laki-laki 37,28% perempuan 31,28%. P Pulp response to each individual is different. In society, we can find individuals who are sensitive and insensitive to pain. Several researchers have shown that EPT can be used to examine the pulp response to pain. Vitality, maturation, and gender played a role in the pulp response to a painful stimulus. The role of gender on the response of the pulp is still debatable. There are experts who believe that women are not resistant to pain, while other experts argue that generally men will feel embarrassed if he canâ€™t resist the pain. Until now, itâ€™s still not known whether there are differences in pulp response between men and women. Therefore, we need to know more about the pulp response by researching and comparing between men and women. This research was held at Faculty of Dentristry Trisakti University and used 60 people for samples (30 men and 30 women). Tooth that used for samples was mandibular first premolar that has same vitality and maturation. The results of this study showed that the average value of menâ€™s EPT 37.29 while womenâ€™s 31.28. According to T Test, we know that p value 0.064 (Î± = 0,05) which means there is no significant difference in pulp response between men and women.
