B Background: Essential oil-based gutta-percha solvents have been extensivelystudied due to its non-toxicity and effectiveness that is similar to conventionalsolvents. These solvents can also be used to remove different types of endodonticsealers. Bioceramic-based sealer is popular nowadays. However, it was stated to bedifficult to dissolve. Objective: To know the difference between the efficacy ofeucalyptus oil (Eucalyptus globulus), sweet orange oil (Citrus sinensis), andgrapefruit oil (Citrus paradisi) as bioceramic sealer solvents. Methods: Thirty-twostainless steel cylindrical molds with 1.5 mm in height and 8 mm in internaldiameter were divided into three groups of ten molds each and a group of two moldsfor negative control. Each mold was filled with bioceramic sealer and placed insidean incubator to set. After 72 hours, the sealer was weighed to obtain initial weightand immersed for one minute in one milliliter of solvent. The sealer was placedinside an incubator for 24 hours to dry and weighed once more to get the finalweight. The difference in the weight was calculated and analyzed using one-wayanalysis of variance (ANOVA). Results: Statistical analysis of the difference inweight of the sealer immersed in three essential oil solvents gave a significancevalue of P > 0.05 between the solvent groups. Conclusions: There is no significantdifference between the efficacy of the three essential oils as bioceramic sealersolvents.
