D Dampak penggunaan mesin produksi menimbulkan kebisingan yang menyebabkan gangguan pendengaran, fisiologis, dan psikologis sehingga bisa mengganggu produktifitas dan kenyamanan bekerja. PT. Indo Japan Steel Center yang terletak di Kabupaten Karawang merupakan perusahaan pemotongan baja dengan produksi 12.500 ton baja per bulan. Penelitian bertujuan mengidentifikasi paparan kebisingan pada lokasi produksi, menghitung tingkat resiko paparan kebisingan terhadap para pekerja, membuat kontur, dan memberi saran mitigasi terhadap dampak kebisingan. Penelitian kebisingan dilakukan menggunakan alat sound level meter (SLM) dan wawancara berupa kuisioner terhadap karyawan. Pengukuran kebisingan didapatkan kebisingan tertinggi di minggu pertama sebesar 95,5 dB(A) di unit Down Shear. Pada minggu kedua kebisingan tertinggi pada unit Leveler dengan kebisingan 96,5 dB(A). Analisa pemetaan didapat hasil tertinggi pada area kerja Leveler, Down Shear, dan Slitter yaitu sebesar 82 dB(A) - 88 dB(A). Wawancara kuisioner dari 30 responden yang bekerja pada unit produksi semua pekerja wajib memakai APD (Alat Pelindung Diri) yang tersedia. Semua pekerja mengetahui manfaat penggunaan APD, sebanyak 20% (6 pekerja) kurang nyaman menggunakan APD, pekerja yang mengetahui resiko pekerjaan adalah 80% (20 orang). Wawancara dilakukan pada 51 responden dari pekerja ruang produksi dan kantor, hasil perhitungan Odds ratio terhadap pendengaran sebesar 10,3 kali lebih besar dari pada yang tidak terpapar, dampak resiko psikologis 6,83 lebih besar dari pada yang tidak terpapar, kemudian tidak ada dampak resiko fisiologis di area proses. Pencegahan kebisingan penerima diberlakukan rotasi kerja dan pekerja diberi proteksi tunggal berupa earplug dengan NRR (Noise Reduction Rate) 33 dB secara merata di setiap unit produksi.

All workers know the benefits of using PPE, as many as 20% (6 workers) are less comfortable using PPE, workers who know the risks of work are 80% (20 people).
