P Pulp response is defined as afferent nerve fibre’s sensitivity on tooth. It is closely linked to tooth’s sensory nerve’s ability to trasmit nosiseptive signals. Each individual has different pulp responses. There are individuals who are sensitive, there are also those who are not. In the past, several researchers have proven that EPT can be used to research pulp response. This tool works by stimulating tooth surface to, in turn, stimulate A-δ fiber to generate nosiseptive response. To date it remains unknown if there exists a difference between pulp response of the left and right region of the same tooth. Therefore, further research is needed to discover the difference in pulp response of the left and right region of mandibular first premolar. This further research involves 60 dentistry students of Trisakti University. The tooth which became the sample of this research was mandibular first premolar both left and right regions which have similar vitality and maturity. Based on t-test data analysis results, the average EPT result of the left tooth region is 37,33 and the right tooth region is 31,26, with 0,01 p-value. These results suggest that there is a significant difference between pulp response of the left and right tooth regions upon administration of electric test. Mandibular first premolar right region is more sensitive than the left.
